The Walking Dead; 6.15 "East" (open spoilers)

nm – yeah that guy did get shot in the shoulder. Looks like a walker stumbling after them all stooped over with his arm hanging funny…

That’d be a pity. I’d enjoy a spin-off called Carol; The Woman With No Name.

My guess is Maggie. She’ll miscarry and die of complications, since they no longer have a doctor. Glenn will not be at her side.

Darryl is 100% not dead. They don’t kill major characters off camera without the audience seeing exactly what is going on. Whoever will die, it will be in the next episode. I’m gonna guess it’ll either by Carol or Michonne.

Hilltop has a doctor, don’t they? Drama with Maggie might involve getting her to the doctor (or the doctor to her) in the middle of all the other stupidity of people traversing the countryside. Or maybe she’ll just be stuck in bed having some unknown problem, without Glenn, and we won’t find out until next season what’s actually up with the baby.

EDIT: Yeah, Hilltop has the doctor with the ultrasound machine! So my bet is more drama with isolated vulnerable characters hitting the road again.

I would totally watch that! Maybe Carol and Daryl can ride off together and, I dunno, fight Zombie Apocolypse crimes. :dubious:

To be fair, I wasn’t much of a fan of the shag apple scene. Maybe it was the horrible accent Rick was using during the dialogue. It really took me out of the scene.

I am eager to see Negan, and I usually cut the show some slack in stupid bits. However, characters acting so unlike themselves in the last couple episodes may be it for me. I get that Negan is supposed to be a great villain, but I’ve come to know these characters over the years. I care about them and their stories more than getting to meet this new bad guy. Seeing them make decisions they just wouldn’t make is a bit much for me. If it keeps up, the show just won’t have the same appeal to me.

Carol’s weapon was a MAC-10. High rate of fire machine pistol.

But the scene was still bad, because you can’t spray and pray like that and have enough control to kill everyone you’re trying to aim at.

The stupidest thing in that scene was that the Saviours weren’t even remotely concerned that Carol was refusing to show her hands. They would have shot her the minute she stepped out with her sleeves pulled over her hands. And she should have expected that, which means it was an idiotic stunt that only worked because the writers wrote it to work. Gah.

Heck, at least the writers are doing us the courtesy of sparing us the phony ambiguity, i.e. suggesting the Governor might be an okay guy at first, or that Terminus might look like a nice place. The Saviors instantly and uniformly present themselves as sociopaths, so going straight to killing them saves a lot of time and fortunately they like to monologue first, so the number of established-character casualties can be kept low without too much strain.

She killed two, wounded one, and two were unharmed.

Probably still unlikely in the real world, but a long way from “everyone”.

That’s the best spoiler I’ve ever read about anything.

I’m worried that the finale death will be a letdown because it is SOOOOO anticipated. We don’t know who, but considering all the buzz and intensity, know it has to be big, so I am mentally prepared for pretty much anybody to get it.

Rosita being offed would make things a lot easier for our new happy couple!

Though I do believe it will be Carol, if that’s true it will be a genuine shame, as the character is–possibly–unique in current pop culture. At least I can’t think of any other instances of a woman that age (the actress is 50) who is NOT an Obstacle (interfering mother-in-law or dragon-lady business woman), a Nurturer (mom or stand-in mom), or a Joke (aging sex-pot chasing young guys, or standard harpy).

This character is unusual in that she seems to be treated by the writers as if she were a person.

No, that would sink our future happy couple…Eugita.

Rhea Seehorn from Better Caul Saul is 44-ish, according to google’s best guess. (Born in 1972?) She is not an Obstacle, Nurturer, or Joke, and she’s written as if she is a real person. Is she too young to count?

I don’t watch The Good Wife, but Julianna Marguiles is 49.

Tamsin Greig from Episodes is 49, and not only is her character written as a real person without falling into one of those stereotypes, it’s even more impressive because it’s a sitcom and her character is a wife and boss. How she doesn’t fall into one of those categories is a mystery. (One of my favorite shows, btw. Looks like we have to wait until January for season 5, which appears to be the final season.)

We’re actually in the golden age of women’s roles on television. I ran across this article which mentions:

A quarter of all principle roles going to women over 40 sounds pretty close to just right.

Well, in that case, OFF WITH HER HEAD!!
