So, we’ve got to wait until October or so to find out who shot J. R.? Shit, I could be dead by then.
Cheesy, very cheesy.

But is Jon Snow alive?
By the way who else has been following Flight 462? I wasn’t thrilled that the last installment was mostly just a clip from FTWD, but at least it’s getting resolved next week in the season premiere. Granted the resolution is probably just going to be the survivor showing up.
Thirding Grsz11 and Fiveroptic. I’ve watched sporadically this season and this is the third time they’ve gone for a totally inappropriate cheap cliffhanger. I actually find the Glen cliffhanger less annoying than Daryl and now this. Going to a first person perspective to avoid actually telling the story when it should be told is ridiculous. I think I’m finally done.
I don’t think it can be Rick or Carl, and I also don’t think they’ll beat a woman to death with a baseball bat on this show. I thought the scene between Abe and Eugene set one of them up to die, probably Eugene. But they’re talking like this will have significant consequences, which to me means either Glenn or Daryl. It should be Daryl (since it can’t be Rick), but I won’t be at all surprised if it’s Eugene. I would consider Eugene a giant cop-out, just like this ending.
The rapid jumping back and forth between the characters in the first third and the twenty minute pontificating by Negan destroyed the tension they had built up in those moments for me.
This guys already wiped out at least 50 of his henchmen, its insane to leave them alive even as workers.
The cliffhanger did not bother me so much as–
Lazy writing. Forty min. of show stretched into a 90 min. ad slot…
It was evident to everybody besides Rick and Co. that they were seriously underestimating the Saviors. This showed him that. Too late though.
The last time a show I watched fucked the audience like this was the first season of The Killing, and I never even bothered watching the next season. Six months later all the emotional momentum this season built up will be gone, and it’s not going to have nearly the same impact.
There’s not even a reason for a cliffhanger. Isn’t this one of the highest rated shows in TV? It’s not like people were not going to tune in next season… I really hope this stunt backfires on them.
(And yes Robert Gimple, it’s a stunt. You don’t get to play the “Who gets killed isn’t the story” card when you make “who gets killed” into the story.)
It’ll be Michonne.
It will either be Eugene or the Alexandrian -
Why didn’t Rick stop the camper up the road after the first encounter and flank that small group on foot? that would have been the call to make - might not have changed much, but you don’t keep circling when you’re clearly being out maneuvered.
hell - Carol took out 4 guys with just a little wimpering- but then, she is Carol.
So, did the horse that morgan was riding have a name?
but I really think I’m done regaurdless - I was like ‘pick me’ so I could quit listening to that fucking monolouge.
The opening scene of this half (rpg to the biker group) had more tension in it.
They just screwed AMC’s marketing department. They are stuck making promos that are all finale shots, graphics, and the continued adventures of Morgan and Carol. Maybe a scene of Gabriel getting really bad news from someone off screen, along with more people we don’t care about. Since the whole season is usually in the can before the premiere, there isn’t much chance they will keep the secret. I doubt they know who it is yet. Did any of the actors ask for a raise?
Bet that tank would have come in real handy right about the time they ran into a roadblock, and they left it at the prison.
Don’t think it was glenn or any of the girls, no screaming, so my money is on Eugene, cause Abe said he was a survivor.
Declan
I voted “Meh” because that cliffhanger is lame as shit. Total weaksauce.
My thoughts exactly. Even the lighting in the let’s make a baby scene screamed “this character is about to die.” About as subtle as when Noah wanted to learn about building the wall last season.
In any case, as pointed out above, it can’t be Rick or Carl.
Without ads it’s around 1:05.
Anyway I called Abe (as the recipient of Lucille) at least a month ago, probably longer. I see no good reason to revise my judgement.
I am up to date with the comics, but the stories diverge so much that I’m a bit surprised when something in the show does happen the same way in the TV show. Though, interestingly, they seem to have quietly foreshadowed certain events that are way off in the future.
I’m sure that the person killed by Negan in the comics won’t be the same character.
Well, I think I can live without knowing until next season. What difference would it make if we knew? If they make it interesting with Rick’s group “working” for Negan, that could be a cool direction to take the show.
If I had to guess, I’d say Eugene, because they played that death music as he drove off in the RV by himself.
The multiple roadblocks were a bit contrived (but remember, it’s a comic), but I thought they did a good job of building tension. The bit with Carol was more of a distraction than anything else, but at least Morgan finally killed someone. After the last few snoozers, this episode had some kick to it.
I’ll be watching in the Fall.
Yeah, I thought the same thing. It was good up to the last episode, though. It seems pretty obvious who the survivor will be.
He’s mostly dead, and will be up until [del]Miracle Max[/del] Melisandre gets to him.
Seeing how large Negan’s group is, I can see things playing out next season where there are plenty of disgruntled folks itching for a coup. I’m thinking someone who is pretty well places approaches Rick with a plan to get rid of Negan. But not after our heroes have to work their butts off to keep up their end of the bargain.
One wonders, though, with the Negan clan being as large as it is why the didn’t just overpower Alexandria earlier.
And how did the Wolves manage to avoid getting ground into a fine powder long before they stormed Alexandria?
Negan’s crew is clearly a functional, stable society. It’s not just a group of people, it’s full blown civilization. It may not be a nice civilization, but at this point Rick’s group is the Germanic tribes at the start of Gladiator going up against the might of Rome. Based on the numbers that Negan has, our heroes are on the wrong side of history.
I find this disappointing in that I thought I was watching a show about a group of survivors who would eventually coalesce into a society. Turns out they just happened to stumble across one that’s already up and running. Kind of anti-climactic.
If the Saviors show up at the walls of Alexandria, the residents will fight to the death to defend it, and die taking some number of Saviors with them. Then there will be no one left to farm and forage for the things the Saviors want as tribute. It’s better to catch the leader outside and break him, so he can go back and tell his people to surrender peacefully.
Next season will probably be about Rick trying to figure out how to fight back while appearing to play along. Since Rick and his crew are very stupid, Negan will not have much trouble anticipating all of his moves since this is Rick’s first Negan, and Negan has subjugated several communities at this point.
