Wow BBBobio. Just . . . wow.
Dang, BBBobbio, that’s a new kind of innie!!
While I will be doing draftsman work, I’m being brought on board as an aero engineer so they can say they have one on staff. And I won’t be working for **FCD **per se - on paper, I’ll be working for his boss, but my sweetie will be giving me my work assignments and signing my time card and all that. I’m sure it’s a conflict-of-interest thing, and I don’t care either way. I understand they’re also trying to figure out if I’ll be listed as full time, part time, temp, or something else. Again, I don’t care - as long as I get paid, I’m good.
We had an early supper - steak, N.O.T. tots, and sugar snap peas. Klondike bars for later.
Dayum, Bobbio at first I was all :dubious: then I was all  and OW!
There weren’t any DVDs; however, somewhere there are pictures…in a very bad Elvis-like jumpsuit
I just saw a stat on skydiving that one in 1000 dives ends badly. That and the fact that voluntarily jumping out of a functional airplane voids my life insurance keeps me on the ground.
Playing around with some new functionality thanks to an Airport, AppleTV and my iPad. I can now pick and choose music or videos on the iPad and play them on the main TV/music system. Much nicer than the AppleTV’s menus. Had a giggle when I played The Escape Club’s “Wild Wild West” over how it is such a perfect piece of '80s music. How many other songs refer to living in the '80s?
I’m at Cain Park. Tonight is the JB concert. I am… melancholy. Melancholic?
Did I mention I finished my skirt? I also made a tiny little purse, too.
And where are the pics of you modelling them?
One of my best friends has gone skydiving twice now. She had more fun the first time. Both times she did a tandem jump. She wants to try it solo next time.
I must admit, I actually would like to try it, but can’t justify the money it would cost. I know I’d probably be scared shitless when it was time to jump, but I think I’d be glad I did it.
kai, I hope the bad luck streak ends stat.
Yesterday was a very long day. We were out the door to drive my son to college before 7:00 in the morning. We stopped for breakfast a little ways down the road and then drove like hell. We reached Pullman around 1:00 or 1:30, but they had a shit ton of construction going on. We also got stopped due to construction outside of Pullman.
We got the key to my son’s duplex, dropped off his stuff, found a mattress/furniture store, drove down there, purchased a mattress/box spring set, along with a bed frame, dropped that stuff off, then took him grocery shopping and dropped that stuff back off. We said our good-byes, and were back on the road by a little after three. Once again, we were stopped by a construction delay outside of Pullman and sat in that for a little bit.
After that, we were making damn good time until we got to Snoqualmie Pass. We had to sit at a dead stop on the road because they had shut it down for blasting and we sat there for over an hour. My husband was pissed and cranky which didn’t make things any better for me. We finally got to get going, but didn’t get home until just before 10 at night.
Once we pulled into the garage, I decided to take the garbage and recycling out, but didn’t know that my husband hadn’t closed the inner door. As I was pulling the cans out, my dogs came running out and took off for parts unknown. I had to hop back in the rig and search the neighborhood. I finally found them, got them loaded in the rig and brought them back home.
For those of you unfamiliar with Washington, I basically drove over six hundred miles yesterday. I literally drove across the state and back. My husband did most of the driving (at his insistence), but I did some driving too.
We also saw the big wildfire near Cle Elum. Jeebus, the sky was thick with smoke.
I miss my son already.
I’ll be meeting with the head of HR tomorrow at 10 - guess I need to wear grown-up clothes, ya think?
Nighty-night for now!
Home from Evenin’ Prayer over to the church house. Today is the Feast of St. Mary. Thus endeth today’s religious instruction.
BBBobbio, first the joke. HEE! Second the pic. Why, oh why, did I have to look!
MOOOOOOM you can’t go wrong with a tubetop, stretch pants and flip flops.
{{{StickyBuns}}} Enjoy the concert.
Now Ima go lie upon the bed and watch teevee.
Nitey Nite Y’all!
Can I haz your DVDs?
LOL! You think I’m going to splat?!
I think it’ll be a long wait. It costs around two or three hundred dollars to do that, and as I said, I just can’t justify that expense right now.
God, especially after the last few days. I had to pay my son’s first and last month’s rent, security deposit, buy him a mattress and box spring and groceries. That was quite a chunk of change! And, it’s all because the stupid financial aid office won’t get off their hineys and certify his damn student loan. They’ve had for just shy of two months now.
My son called them two weeks ago and they assured him it would be certified in five to seven business days. It’s been well over that, and we’re still waiting. When he called today, the ass he spoke to was curt and rude and told him that private student loans were not their big priority.
They are big asstards. Tuition is due Monday and we are sweating bullets now. Last year everything went off without a hitch.
Best $400.00 I ever spent.
So, what about your DVDs? Do you have all of* Burn Notice?
*
Unfortunately not. I don’t have all that much in the way of good DVDs, unless you like Downton Abby. Hell, I don’t even remember most of the DVDs that I do have. Mostly, we stream through Netflix.
However, if you really want my DVDs, you can have them. My husband might have something to say about that though. He, for one, would remain on the ground. He has no interest in jumping out of airplanes.
While I quite like being in small airplanes, bouncing around, I am amazed I haven’t jumped out of one yet. It’s definitely something I assumed I would do, just…never got around to it!
Bungie jumping, on the other hand…no fricking way!!! If I’m gonna go ‘splat’, I want one helluva view on the way down.
Good news is the temp only got to about 106 today! Bad news is the overcast-ness and humidity didn’t make it very nice. Even now, I’m glossy with sweat within a few minutes of being outside, ugh.
Chickin’ was nummers, though it took longer to cook than I expected; not entirely sure it’s cooked all the way through, but MrTao had to finish off the cooking for me <I went grocery shopping> and he swears by the thermometer. I swear by the pink; I do not like teh pink in mah chickin’! :dubious: But the texture is alright. If I’m sick tomorrow, well, at least I don’t have a job to call in to, and can just barf around the house at leisure.
Barf and leisure do not belong in the same sentence. I don’t recall saying, “I think I’ll have a leisurely barf”.
Worked a double I wish I was still in Fla. with the Peeps.
What has been seen, cannot be unseen.
She doesn’t have to get Wally World fancy, just put on some Crocs and a bathrobe.
Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up and caffienatin’. *YAWN * 'Tis 75 Amurrkin out with a predicted high of 95 and “scattered afternoon/evening thunderstorms.” This means it’s August. Yestiddy we did have a nice rain here at da cave. My unofficial rain gauge says one and a half inches in just over an hour. Of course this means the grass shot waaaaaaaaay up so mowage of da yahd will have to happen.
doggio I say MOOOOOOM should go glitzy. FCD would be so proud!
Still ain’t jumpin’ out of a plane. I say this just to set y’alls’ minds at ease.
Now I need more caffiene and rumbly tummy demands to be fed. Then irk purtification must commence.
Happy Thursday Y’all!
Note to self - just because a guy is gay doesn’t mean he’s qualified to give fashion advice. Everyone knows when you wear a tube top, you have to wear a thong. Stretch pants, indeed. And you totally forgot the tiara. How *dare *you call yourself gay, swampy??
**FCD **jumped out of a perfectly good airplane a couple of times. The first time he did OK, altho the instructor on the ground directed him to a touch-down *waaaaaaaaay *on the other side of the airfield. Personally, I think he was being a dick. Second jump, **FCD **ignored the instructor and flew his chute almost exactly to the target. Unfortunately, he was so intent on where he was landing, he forgot that you’re supposed to bend your knees when you touch down. And that, kiddies, is why my sweetie has screws in his ankle that occasionally set off metal detectors. He’s never jumped since. Oh, and they weren’t tandem jumps - just static lines.
Me, tho I’d love to experience free falling, it ain’t gonna happen in this lifetime. Those indoor wind tunnel thingies where you “fall” in a tall tube are interesting, but the view sucks.
Yep, up and thinking about getting a shower and dressing all adult-like. They’ve got my offer letter ready along with the various info I need as a new employee. This will be my first private industry job since I was a teen working part time for my dad. And even at that, it’s still closely associated with the gummint, being a contractor and all. Here’s hoping I’ll have some interesting stories to share as days go by…
Happy Thursday!
waitaminit - swampy’s gay?
that never gets old.
I have no desire to jump out of anything, not even an open window, so nobody gets my DVDs
besides - my collection isn’t very big anyway
