Finally, after much hand wringing, lots of conflicting schedules and distance problems, Robin and I are getting married.
As I am down in Biloxi at Tech School right now, that’s where the joyous event will be taking place. The date we have set is May 25, 2002, in an as yet undetermined location in Biloxi, Mississippi.
Anyone who wants to come is welcomed by both Robin and myself. We’d love to see you there.
Hhmmm…strange…I posted a congrats that never showed up…anywho:
Congratulations! I wish you two the very best. It won’t always be fun & roses, but together you can make a life that fufills your hearts, souls and desires.
Wow…what is it with May 25th and weddings this year? A friend of mine is getting married on the 25th, and my cousin is getting married on the 25th, and now you two!
Congratulations on being the first of the current crop of Doper engagements to actually tie the not. Bluesman and I will be attending aforesaid cousin’s wedding, so will not be able to be there, but we wish you two much happiness, and hope you have a wonderful day.
The entirety of the drive down would be somewhere near 1000 miles. And I am not fabulously rich enough to afford a plane down. So I will join the ranks of well-wishers from too damn far away.
I can’t begin to tell y’all how excited and happy I am that this is finally coming together! May 25th can’t come soon enough, as far as I’m concerned.
Well, it can. I still have to get a dress, shoes, get my hair done, get my nails done, get my face done, wax my eyebrows, etc. At least I’ve already got Dave’s ring. Dave, for his part, has been given the important task of arranging for the officiant. I’m hoping we can do a webcast of the wedding (depends on the facilities available).
Dave and Robin,
I have followed this whole romance totally in the background, but let me just say that I wish you both the best. Even though I don’t know either of you, it’s nice to know that two really nice people found each other, no matter what it took to get there.
Now, here are my sage words of advice for you: Always remember the good times, for they will help you make it through the bad. And don’t dwell on the bad times, because all they do is give you indigestion and make you feel like eating antacids and taking a nap.
You guys, I could’ve made it and all, considering Biloxi isn’t too horrific of a drive for me. but NO…you had to schedule it less than two weeks after my oral surgery, at which time I will still be swollen, bruised, and so loopy on painkillers I will be unable to drive.
Yeah, I know the timing sucks. We had to figure out how to get me to Biloxi, because Dave can’t leave, and how to get his and my families together, and because I’ve got travel restrictions after that.
There will be a HUGE Dopefest in October, once Aaron and I have moved to Pennsylvania and gotten settled in and everything. It’s set for October 5 at Castell Zappo. More details will follow.
