**Red **- what about the ink refills - sometimes cheap printers have crazy expensive ink. I saw that Staples has an Epson on sale - we’re going to go there and check out all the various printers and inks.
Do you have the error code? Perhaps it is something you can fix.
I like HP printers, but the bubble jets with the little cartridges are too expensive if you do much printing. We have a used HP 2600 color laser jet from Ebay. They are great, I selected it because we have some at work.
If you don’t have to have color, Brother makes some nice monochrome lasers for about $100.00.
The error code is just an E, and when I try to run the diagnostics, it tells me the printer is busy. We’ve run thru all the troubleshooting tips we could find. I’m pretty sure it died just to piss me off.
I just tried one last thing. We shall see shortly…
I want bbq now. I want chickn. Or ribs. Or brisket. Or pork. I want it and I want it now, dangit! Of course, I have to wait for dindin. Life is so mean!
I had an all-in-one printer/copier/scanner/fax that would slice/dice/julienne but it died. I was at an estate sale & they had a Kodak printer for $25. Since there was no 'puter there to hook it up to, I was only able to plug it in & make a (color) copy. They said I could bring it back it back if it didn’t print when I got home. I got home & it printed. Second time I used it it ran out of ink so I bought more of both black & color. Some time later I tried to scan something; stoopit thing won’t scan despite everything that I’ve tried.
I’ll buy your research from you Mooommmm, say one shiny dime?
The estate sale was at a property I really wanted to buy for a few years; unfortunately I just saw someone else got it. It was a former (private) school on 29 acres. There was a house/admin building, classroom building, full b-ball court gymnasium, baseball/football field, & a full sized chessboard (they had chess pieces, but you could use humans instead as each square was about 2’ x 2’!), none of which could be seen from the street. The only thing preventing me from buying it was a winning lottery ticket. A developer is turning it into 12 custom homes instead.
My lottery-winning plan was to knock down the school building & build my house there, with a tunnel into the gym so I’d stay dry/warm in inclement weather. The existing house would have been a crash pad for guests, including Mumpers passing thru. A guy can dream, can’t I?
Got my car back with fresh oil, dropped off the truck to get its oil changed. Came home to find the TV playing to an empty room - that makes me grrrrr! And now I know where my spousal unit gets it from. His folks have the TV on constantly, so they’re not even aware of it. Whereas if I’m not watching, I don’t want it on. Oh well…
Printer officially dead. Dammit.
I’ve got rice in the steamer - I’m going to make my grandmother’s stuffed cabbage (gołąbki) for supper tonight. The rice needs to cool, plus I need to scald the cabbage leaves - it’s yummy but very labor intensive, hence the early start. There will be lots = yummy leftovers!!
That’s why we cheat and make it like a lasagna. Still need to boil the cabbage a bit, but spreading out layers is a lot quicker than all of that rolling.
Of course not. School starts in August now, doesn’t it?
As for me, I’ll be, let me consult my notes here, “somewhere between the moon and NYC” in August, then to “Southern Merrylande” around Labor Day.
Seriously, posts to a thread like this might as well have huge signs with bold red letters saying “House Thieves Welcome”…
Yep, we’re a buncha Bonnies and Clydes here makin’ notes on who’s goin’ where, when over the Summer so we can go rob each others houses.
In an hour I get bbq cause we’re eatin’ early. I still want it now though. Can’t wait to get me some bbq!
gotti I’ve made unrolled cabbage rolls like that as well.
Well, you have to get past my two trained attack Boxers. Plus, all I said was I was going fishing, which is 3 hours of a Sunday morning.
I just finished lunch 20 mins ago. (granted it was late today, but still, iffn I ate dinner at 4:30, I’d need to eat Dinner II later on.
Raw teak with tranquilizer seasoning; haven’t you ever watched an action show on TeeVee?
I like the rolls, and it really wasn’t that big a deal - it went pretty fast. The pot is out now, coming, sorta, to room temp. About 4:30, I’ll start it to cookin’.
**DonGuy **- I’m not worried about thieves, since the spousal unit is staying home while I’m gone. And if he and I are both gone, we have to get a house sitter for the cats and the fish, so the house is as vulnerable as it is when we’re home. Assuming we have anything worth stealing. Anyone who comes looking for jewelry or silver or fine art is going to be sadly disappointed…
I just dropped off half a dozen tea towels with crabs stenciled on them. I expect they should sell pretty easily. At least I hope so! I don’t want them back.
MOOOOOOM you sold the concrete lions so you really don’t have any valuable possessions anymore.
Happy birthday Jim!
Speaking of the lions - the guy came and got them today. I didn’t even notice - he came while we were taking the car to get its oil changed. FIL was here and he told us.
I imagine someone who broke into my house would be confused.
“What is it with this guy, a bunch of OLD electronics, a ton of wires and a collection of rubber ducks?”
Fer instance, I do have a DVD player but connected to the screen is a CED player. Instead of modern keyboards, I have a broken Wurlitzer piano and a console organ, plus my Bass turns 30 in October at the same time my motorcycle turns 33.
Anyhoo, just had a burger with gouda, caramelized onions and pear on it for NOL. Nom.
Happy Vunderversary an excellent choice of date IMHO
Cheers
Jim
Considering that a stranger will get slobbermauled, feeding them steak first will make their attacks worse.
A large cardboard package got delivered to our house today and was put on the garage floor. One of the dogs accidentally watered it. I can think of several appropriate steps to do at this point, but not doing a damn thing at all isn’t one of them.:dubious:
My worry about our dogs during a break in is that they would be shot.
Or perhaps crushed by a stolen concrete lion.
