I appreciate what you are saying and yes, I do have skills. I should, I’ve been playing with string longer than some Mumpers have been alive. A lady I used to see at these sort of things would bring her bobbin lace to work on.
Bobbin lace is made by sticking pins into a lap pillow sort of thing and then tying knots around the pins with about 42 bobbins, then moving the pattern on the pillow and starting over. She never seemed to even look at her hands even when she was changing pattern, she was chatting and making eye contact and exclaiming on other people’s work while her hands were flying and pins were being jabbed and bobbins going all over the place. If I had tried such a thing, there would have been blood and possibly not all of it would have been mine which would not have been good.
It’s like what hubs once said about a stage artist doing a wonderful card trick. “Anyone can do that, you just have to practice 30,000 times a month.”
