Thanks, I’ve been missing you guys more than anything else about the game.
I had to miss last night’s raid – we here in central Indiana were being pounded with severe thunderstorms and a couple of tornado warnings.
Since we were having the kind of storms that show up as red on the weather radar moving through our area, hiding in the basement and watching the local weather seemed more prudent than booting up the computer and playing WoW.
This is the third straight evening of this, and they’re predicting the same for this evening. It’s really getting old.
You didn’t miss anything – only about 7-8 folks showed (1 DK, 2 druids, 4 priests) so we bagged it.
If you, Bird, Yeti, and everyone who showed last night can make it next week we might be ok (if we have tanks).
Darland was also around though I’m not sure if he was available for BDL duties.
After last night, I think I’m reinvigorated to work on Nahren. I’ve been growing despondent about his lack of decent raid gear, so I’m going to try to run at least one random each night with him and two or three on the nights I’m not raiding on Stormrage. And rather than focus on Resto, I’m going to kit out my bear set. We’ve got a huge glut of healers in BDL, but with Reins focusing more on raiding and Darland potentially having other obligations, we’re pretty short on tanks. I don’t have much experience tanking (the last time I did so was as an off-tank for the Valentine’s Day bosses) but I’m confident I can pick it up with some practice. It’ll still be a few weeks before I’m significantly up to par, but I don’t have that far to go until I’m decently kitted out. WoW-Heroes link
…Well, okay, I’ve got a little ways to go.
The good thing is that as a tank, you’ll have the zero-wait queues, so you can do a couple or three straight heroics back-to-back and get fully kitted out in Triumph gear in very little time. The bad thing is that you’ll be the focus of any assholishness going on in the group, which is annoying. Also, your best weapon drops from H HoR, which is doubly annoying.
Oh bloody hell. I hate that place, and I can’t imagine tanking it. :mad:

Well, I’m looking at what I have versus the Orca Hunter’s Harpoon, and other than the DPS I’m hard-pressed to see how the Harpoon’s better. The staff has way more Stamina plus expertise, and I’m pretty near hitcapped as it is. I don’t think I’m going to focus on getting the polearm until I’ve worked on everything else.
Darland did whisper me and ask if we were raiding, but I told him to nevermind because even with him we only had 8 and no off-tank.
That would be great if you built up a tanking set Nahren! I changed back my off-spec to Shadow again just to give us a little more flexibility, so I don’t have to always heal (in fact I was dps last week). But on the healing side I did pick up my 4th T10 piece last night. It’s sad to look at my currency and see zero Frost Emblems again.
Wow, sorry about bailing last night. The Kinect event was pretty cool.
As for more tanks, I’m less geared than Nahren, and I’m a little scared about entering heroics right now. I’m ok as ret, but prot needs work. Maybe if I chant my stuff, I’ll feel better. Nahren, if you’re running every night, I’ll try and catch you and we can group up. Less chance for assholishness with 2 (and we can switch up feral/ret and resto/prot to keep things interesting:) )

I’ve been saving up all the mats I get and I’ve got more than enough money to pick up more. I’ve just been reticent about chants for gear I’d replace quickly. But I’ll get a shopping list together and poke you when I can.

They’ve actually dropped quite a bit in price. I think I saw one advertised in Trade chat on Stormrage the other day for 6 or 8k.
Well, I was right…they didn’t finish transferring the 100 gigs of files that I had on my computer…I should have it back by this evening.
Reading the last few posts, I could try my hand at tanking as well, although I would be starting almost from scratch gearwise. I have kept a few odds and ends that might be worth gearing up for a beginning level 80 tank. I do have a crapload of triumph badges that will help getting started, but other than that, I have little to no knowledge of the prot pally talent tree. I guess I will check out elitist jerks again for that.
I’m not sure I’m gonna like tanking, but I really won’t know unless I try.
