Bump for tonight’s guild run; ToC-10 at least through the weekly quest, then either finish ToC or shift to ICC or go home. Hope we finally manage to get the Northrend Beasts down the first time.
ETA: I should mention that when I did the weekly on Rumpole, we had a few wipes, even though several of the raid members had “of the Ashen Verdict” in their titles.
Yup, that’s me. I’m usually on Rasz, so there’s no need to send separate calendar invites or anything.
Speaking of which, it looks like I’m going to be unavailable on Mondays for a while (which might not be much different in practice, as I have a habit of completely spacing on the BDL raids for some reason). VALOROUS has added Monday nights to their raid schedule; I may be able to squeeze in both raids from time to time, however, so please keep me in the loop.
Maybe I need a little help on that. Even with the addon, I still end up having trouble with the debuffs on the Wyrms and how to clear them. Two weeks ago, I got the debuff and the addon told me to head towards Muz, but I died before I could get there. I was slowed also, not sure if it was the debuff or something else (It also had me running through the hitbox of Muz’s Wyrm - shortest route and all) I’m so squishy so I don’t really have much time to clear it off. So I’m not sure what I can do except maybe Ice Block and wait it out?
The acidic spit debuff puts a stacking slow. If you don’t get there within a few seconds you will be unable to move (but still taking damage). In that case the tank (or any other player with the Burning Bile debuff) needs to come to you. I had to do that for the Acidmaw tank in our run for the weekly.
Another thing to keep in mind is that I’m pretty sure the acid debuff splashes, so you want your ranged and healers kinda spread out so as few as possible get hit by it (not so easy to avoid for melee, but they are likely closer to the Dreadscale tank anyways).
Which brings me to the fact that I completely forgot ToC was the plan for the BDL run and got saved to it when our ICC didn’t happen on Thursday. So I’m saved to both ToC and ICC10 at this point… if you run VoA I’m available. Hopefully with Reins back you’ll be OK in the tank department.
Finally - does any of the BDL PvP? I’ve been getting into battlegrounds this past week (running at least the daily random, sometimes more) and it might be fun to get a group to queue up together for that if folks are interested.
There are two debuffs: the Burning Bile and the Paralyzing Poison (or whatever it’s called). Generally speaking, the person with the bile needs to move to the people with the paralytic, because they will gradually become unable to move. When the only person with the bile is the tank, that’s the time that you need to move toward them (or at least get close). If there’s only one worm up, the second tank should taunt the worm as soon as the first tank gets bile, so that (a) they’re distributing the damage (i.e., you don’t have a tank taking bile damage and worm melee hits) and (b) the first tank can use their bile to bust people out of the paralytic.
This is a great fight for the bossmod DXE, because it gives you arrows pointing in the right direction to run (either to break people out or to be broken out).
JayRx1981 / Rahuul (H - Druid)/ Free any night after 10pm EST
Runestar / Kalathan (D/T - Pally). Any nights but Mon/Wed, but could probably switch my Wednesday night - I pair up with a friend and we adventure together.
Jragon / Jsor (D - Death Knight) / Free any night time slot (this semester thru summer at least) / Arizona time zone (so I vary between what DST we’re on at any given moment).
The SDMB Lurker known as : Anshar / (D - Hunter) / ? / ?
Mister Rik / Keliraeda (D - Pally) Can’t really commit to this, though, since my irregular work schedule interferes with attending a regularly-scheduled event.
PROFIT!!!
Ok…added a few more toons and removed the PENDING toons until they reach 80 and post here to let us know they’re in.
We are becoming a more solid group with the last few additions, and I think we are finally able to get a regular night of raiding now!
Also, Mosier was brought into the guild with Ghastliar, but he is unable to raid on Mondays until further notice. Just post on this thread if things change to make it possible, Mosier.
At the moment I don’t expect to make the raid tonight. I apparently ate something bad Sunday for lunch, and it has not been a pleasant 24+ hours for me. A degree and a half of fever has been the least of my problems.
Pretty successful Dog run; we one-shotted Northrend Beasts with 9 players despite the main tank (uh, me) getting himself run over twice by running in the wrong direction on Icehowl - I swear I have no idea what I was thinking the second time, then picked up a 10th for Lord Jaraxxus (the weekly) - also a one-shot, though a bit tricky. We only had 2 ranged dps so the infernals hung around what seemed like forever. Keeping with the theme, we one-shotted the Faction Champs as well, but then wiped in our first try on the valks.
At that point, a couple people had to drop out, so we decided to try clearing some ICC trash just to get a feel for it. I was a bit dubious about 8 manning it, but with the 30% bonus we knifed right through them (at some point one of ours disconnected, so we ended up 7 manning most of the first room), until we tripped a trap while pulling the four guys at the top of the stairs.
I think the off-tank wound up grabbing more of the aggro than I did, so he went down and then everyone else did. I managed to pop army of the dead and run away while the ghouls were keeping the trash busy.
But seeing how (relatively) easily we managed that trash with just 7, I’m certain we can do Marrowgar, and probably the front 4-6 or so, on a weekly basis till we’re geared up.
What happened was that you were tanking the trash at the top of the stairs, and Ama was tanking the skeletal guard at the bottom of the stairs, I I didn’t get into a position quickly enough where both of you were in line of sight. I started near you but by the time I realized I couldn’t reach Ama it was too late.
Still I was impressed at how just 7 of us made quick work of most of the trash, so I’m pretty confident we’ll do well when we start running it regularly.
I made 1400/3000 Neutral with Ashen Verdict, so I still have a bit of trash to clear before I get my ring, but with the weekly I’m now at 85 Frosts, so 5 more days and I should be able to get my 2pc t10! (or less if the weekly is something like Rasuvius)
I lived through the Worms this time, but only because I never got hit with the acid or fire.
Oh and to be clear: our 10th we picked up was our newest Dog, Taursus. He was one of the ones who had to run so I hope he got a chance to turn in the weekly.
I setup next week’s run for ICC…we’ll see what the weekly is to be sure.
BTW, I think Muz has about 6 Abyss Crystals from the last couple runs; we never got around to rolling for 'em. I think I’m going to grab one as an enchanter tax and put the rest of 'em in the guild vault on an honor system: if you didn’t get anything in the last couple runs, take a crystal, first come first served.
Got my 2pc T10 today! Yippee! Can’t wait till Monday for some ICC (or VOA if we control…bwwaahaaahaa)
Back down to 1 Frost emblem gotta restart the grind.
