The WoW "Burning Dog Legion" (Cairne/Horde) 10-man Raid List.

I looked at the loot tables last night, and there are at least six upgrades for me in the first four bosses. In fact Marrowgar has three upgrades for me if he’d just stop dropping that claymore and the cloth belt.

So Awsmpallytnk is now up to about 435 in Inscription and has most but not all of the inscription recipes; anyone who wants a glyph please feel free to mail him in-game with a request.

For me:

  1. Citadel Enforcer’s Claymore (Yeah, the one you’re bitching about)
  2. Whispering Fanged Skull (would need Ramaladni’s Blade pair up with this to keep my expertise capped)
  3. Conquerer’s Mark of Sanctification (yeah…3 other pallies, 2 warlocks and a priest wants this too)
  4. Ramaladni’s Blade of Culling (I’d settle for this if I’m not able to get the claymore)
  5. Primordial Saronite (Because enough just isn’t enough!)

I seriously need a necklace upgrade too, but I think the next wing has what I need.

Have you started working on your Shadow’s Edge yet, Yeti?

I do have Light’s Vengence, 10/25 PS, and now I have to find a way to start Puggin’ the ICC25s for the bloods, but I need to take out Rotface and Festergut in our 10-mans before I can actually be considered to Pug in a 25.

But yeah, I’ve started.

Also, I have noticed in the last few weeks that Primordial Saronite started dropping much quicker…I got one for 500g on Cairne last night, and others for 550 and 570.

If I’m on Prod, you’re going to have to fight me for Ramaladni’s. That’s a nice DK tanking axe, and as far as I know Marks and Saronite don’t drop in 10mans. Marks may drop on heroic bosses, but I’ve never done any heroics in 10man.

I thought about going for Shadows Edge on Reins, but it’s his offspec and with Cata so close I think it’s pretty pointless right now. I’m too poor to buy the saronite anyway, but I may keep the quest and items just in case people want to go back to ICC for giggles.

Apologies for the Rotface and Festergut fails. We were short on time so I think I rushed the explanations and left out a thing or two, but we’ll get them next week. So used to just standing there whacking on the boss and letting everyone else calls out things.

Yes, it is (used it for a long time til Heroic Oxheart dropped). Marks don’t drop in 10 normal, but one drops on the end-wing bosses in 10 heroic. Saronite does drop in 10-mans as far as I know, and definitely drop in 10 heroic.

I’m in the same boat. I have the bloods and everything, just didn’t buy the Saronite. I might still do it, just for the lore, if PS drops to 400g or so per (that’s still a lot of gold though, even if I use frost to buy a few).

It could also be useful to get to the head (or near the head) of the line if the guild decides to gun for the “We’re Legendary” guild achievement in Cata.

I have about 15k gold right now, so on occasion if there is someone that wants to sell now for about 500 or less, I’ll go ahead and pay for it. I could just go ahead and buy the battered hilt and use the PS for recipes, or plug along and see what drops in the next few weeks for us. I’m not 100% committed either way at this time.

I saw on wowhead that PS have an insanely low drop rate in Normal 10s, so I just threw that in there for the hell of it.

Although I did see here that the Marks drop in any mode of Deathbringer’s Cache.

Nah, that’s not correct. The marks only drop for DBS on heroic mode for 10s. You might have had “All” selected instead of “10 Normal” on wowhead.

In addition, it makes no sense for it to have a 23% drop rate on “all” forms of ICC and yet somehow have a specific drop rate of 2% in Heroic 25. No idea what that table is smoking.

Woo, congrats!

I forgot how crappy the economy is on Cairne. All of mine, I bought for under 500g.

What the hell? I had a whole comment here that got deleted when I posted. Anyway, what I was going to say was, if you use any kind of loot council system. Ramaladni’s should definitely go to a tanking DK over a Ret Paladin. It’s a great tanking weapon, but all the ArP makes it not so hot for Paladins, who mix physical and magic damage.

Marks only drop in 10-man off the Heroic versions of the wing-end bosses: Saurfang, Putricide, BQL, Sindri. Can’t speak about Saronite for sure, but I wouldn’t be surprised if they only drop on Heroic, too.

Keep in mind that you’ll need to be killing bosses in 25-man in order to get Shadowfrost Shards to drop.

If you’re thinking about buying a Battered Hilt, I’d say take a close look on the stats of what you’d get versus Shadow’s Edge. It’s got ArP on it, so it’s possible that the Battered Hilt weapon may be better for you but I doubt it. Of course, that’s also dependent on being able to get your Bloods out of 25-man, and a weapon in the hand is worth a better weapon that you’ll never get the quest drops for in the bush.

At least half the raid had never done those fights before, so if nothing else at least everyone has some idea about how they work now. I don’t think everyone understood exactly what we were trying to do with the spores, but our dps is pretty decent so I’m confident we’ll do better next week.

Yeah, that was my first time tanking those two fights, as well, and while I knew what to do in theory, it was a bit different actually seeing it play out. For Rotface, I got a bit of tunnel vision trying to locate people who needed cleansing that I forgot to keep generating threat on the big ooze, so it eventually peeled off towards a healer, and I’d gotten far enough ahead that I had to run a bit to get back into taunting range. I’m pretty sure that’s what wiped us

We probably could’ve had Festergut if there was time for another attempt. He was down to 37%? And that’s with the spore confusion at the beginning and me not having the gear to tank him. Remind me to respec/glyph for more damage-reduction cooldowns; should make it easier on us.

Really, it’s their job to find you and not the other way around. Although I’ll admit when I get the debuff I usually panic and it takes me longer to find the OT than it should.

Isn’t there a way to set up Questhelper to show its arrow pointing to a specified person? That would be helpful for me, at least. A big green arrow showing me where to go.

If you weren’t aware already, anybody tanking him when he has three stacks of inhale should be running internal or external CDs for the duration. That’s why you generally want to have your better-geared tank go second, so that they’ll get the first three-stack.

Correct. One of the easiest tricks for this, and one that doesn’t require any addons, is to have the kiting tank pull out a non-combat pet and then put a raid marker on the pet. If you put it on the tank themself, it will get wiped as soon as they get the disease, but on the pet, it will stay there throughout the encounter, and the pet will stay near the tank. Given that Blizzard has been handing them out for anniversaries and other events, everyone should have at least one; and if not, you can buy the cheapest ones from vendors for 50s or less.

The kiting tank should *never *be running into the raid to find people to dispel, because this will drag the Big Ooze with them. Its AOE damage in the middle of a crowded pack will stress your raid healers and possibly end in deaths.

Headrush042, are you using Decursive? If not, you should probably pick it up–it will make your life a lot easier.

Even when the OT has a pet out, I often can’t find them right away. It helps, though.

What I found finally helped me on Rot was not to look for the pet marker, but to watch the minimap. The screen is way too chaotic during Rotface, with all the slime everywhere, the players’ attacks, people running around, blah blah. I watch Rotface to know when to run under his legs, but as soon as I’m told I have a slime on me, I check the minimap and look for the tank’s color on the outside of the room (usually a Pally, so I’m looking for the pink dot that usually has other dots near it). It’s quicker than wheeling the camera around hunting for a little purple diamond, and as long as I keep the spatial relationship between my camera and the minimap in sync I can run to the tank immediately.

As one of the healers, my inability to run to the tank really hurt our guild at the time, and things got noticeably easier once I was able to reliably get to the tank and Cleanse myself without losing track of the healing.

It’s a DBM feature… and I can’t for the life of me remember the command right now. /dmb arrow nameofkitertank I think, I don’t use DBM anymore so I can’t check it.

If you normally play with your camera scrolled in, scrolling it out can also help. Especially if you bump up the maximum possible distance to the *actual *in-game max with the following command:

/console cameraDistanceMax 50
