I have VuhDo set up for when I’m tree healing on my druid – that’s the same functionality, yes? I worded that poorly – what I meant was I got focused on watching diseased people get in range with my mouse hovering over their raid frame so I could cleanse them, thus forgetting to use judgement and shield on the big ooze whenever they were off cooldown to keep my threat ahead of the healers Just a practice issue for me.
Also, if a slime flood appears, should I just cast freedom on myself and run through it or change direction? I’m afraid that trying to skirt around it brings me too close to the raid.
This is what I was looking for. I’ll see if I can get it to work. Watching the minimap is a good idea too; I don’t know why I didn’t think of that.:smack:
As the kiting Pally? If you can cast Freedom on yourself, absolutely. I can’t remember if you can or not, but I do know I was charged with casting Freedom on the kiter every time he asked for it. It does make a world of difference.
I would assume that VuhDo works the same way, yeah. You shouldn’t ever have to be watching for people to cleanse–they should be calling for it themselves when they’re in range. That way you can focus on kiting the ooze and just quickly look down to spam the button when everything’s in position.
Absolutely run through it on regular. AFAIK it only slows you on Heroic, and even if it slows on regular, like you said, you can HoF. You’ll be taking pretty minimal damage from the ooze, compared to the damage the raid would be taking if you cut a corner. (Or, worse, the damage *you’d *take if you tried to double back and got in the slime’s melee range–almost certainly lethal, unless you popped a CD, and even then…)
I’ve reconsidered…I will defer to the needs of the DKs in our raid (if they are there when it drops), and only then I will roll on it if the DKs pass on it, and I don’t have a lvl251 or higher weapon at that moment. I’m just getting a little frustrated dragging around an Orca Hunter’s Harpoon as my current weapon for the last 6 months or so.
Another side note. I went in and messed with the settings of the Dogs’ Alliance-side counterpart so that anyone can recruit, in case anyone wants to use the guild for their Worgen alts during Cata. I noticed that there was only one other character in the guild who had logged in in the past year, so I doubt it will be much of an issue.

Don’t worry about it Yeti, I picked up the Citadel Enforcer’s Claymore in an ICC10 earlier. Besides I don’t really care who rolls on what, we’re just there for fun times. If you’re tired of the Orca Hunter’s Harpoon, you may want to run Heroic PoS to try for the Tyrannical Beheader.
Raid tonight. Looks like we’ve got 8 confirmeds and 5 tentatives. Didn’t get a chance to log on and see what’s up for Brewfest. But I’m up for some brewfun before or after. (Rottingbird has the remote-control, but also has all he needs…or does he? I should check) And did anyone find out if there are emblems to be had?
You can RDF for Coren Direbrew, just like Ahune. The reward bag you get for the first run of the day contains 2 Frosts and a chance at the remote or a mount.
I’m looking forward to tonight too – especially as we’re going on vacation for two weeks starting this weekend, and will have to go cold turkey as far as WoW is concerned. Gotta cram as much as I can into the next few days.
Now, if I only didn’t have to spend my days at work, I could get so much more WoW in…
Another successful BDL run through the lower spire tonight with even more guildies getting nice upgrades–except for Yeti losing out on the claymore again (next week yeti!). We one shot everything again with no deaths despite a few hiccups on Saurfang (I need to not accidentaly target and innervate the full mana lock and target myself to innervate the low mana raid healer).
I felt kind of bad about winning that roll, but it is also an excellent Death Knight tanking weapon, and Muz hadn’t picked anything up in ICC before that.
I was a bit slow on the taunts on Saurfang a couple times, mainly because I was messing around throwing chains of ice on the blood beasts, which I hope helped a little.
Yeah, those chains worked well on my blood beast. Me and whoever was on the left (facing Saurfang) beast was getting him down mostly quickly, but the right one stayed around a bit chasing Corn around. I ran to the middle a few times to help get him down, then I’d have to run back to my position losing dps times.
I did get 2 drops, the off-hand and a staff. But I can’t use both…decisions decisions!
Sorry I didn’t show, I didn’t really feel like raiding last night and you guys usually have more than enough. Congrats on all the upgrades, maybe next week I’ll join you guys for more fun. Hopefully on my new computer.
We missed you SK, but Ama and Muz had no problems tanking. Although for some reason I almost lost Ama once or twice during the lootship battle - thank goodness for Lay on Hands. I don’t know what happened; Ama’s health never got that low for any of the other fights.
