WAS IT ME, or did this weeks show kick downky bawls compared to the rest of the 9th S.?

What happened in the first half? I missed it because my VCR hates me.
I came in about the time whatshisface died because his chunk of metal with all the symbols on it was taken from him.
Is Follmer a bad guy or not? Who’s the new bad guy that Kersh reported to in the end? What happened with Doggett and the whole getting-run-over thing?
IMO, this entire season sucks so far. I can’t get into the Scully-Doggett-Reyes investigative team. They lack the passion and chemistry that Mulder and Scully had.
Only 9 eps to go.
Help me out here. I did not watch many of the shows last season. How did Scully concieve? Is is a mystery or do the characters all know? Please tell me!

The season before last showed Mulder at Scully’s door and she was saying she was not pregnant. ( I think the artificial insemination failed) Mulder remarked that there was always nature’s way. Then we see the door closing and not the juicey stuff. (damn!)
Next thing we know Scully’s pregnant and wouldn’t name the father. But in the same show where she had the baby, Mulder was there in her apartment when she returned and they embraced. I believe she said she was going to name the baby Fox after his father. It was a very touching mom-dad-baby scene.
Just once I would love to see a hot XXX Scully-Mulder throw down. I’d even order for it on pay per view.
