There ain't a song so good that some sexy ladies can't make better (Fratellis)

I really liked this song to begin with, but this video makes it even better

Love the retro feel. Big fan of the brunette!

Heard the song last week for the first time and loved it – reminded me of the short-lived “garage rock revival” from a few years back, with lots of short, stripped-down, raw rock ‘n’ roll songs from bands whose names all followed the “The _____s” format. The Strokes were my favorites to emerge, but this is a strong leadoff single from the Fratellis (and yes, the retro babes in the video are totally smokin’ hot).

Saw them live a few weeks ago. They’re very, very good live. Sadly the ladies weren’t present during the gig. :frowning:

Guh. Brain no longer work. Brunette. Guh. Red dress. Guh. Brain. Off. Buh.

As much as I normally love brunettes, for some reason I find the brunette in the video…off putting. I think it’s her hair. Too short and wiiiiiiiiiide. It makes her head look like a giant butt-plug.

My name is Jophiel and I approve of this video.

I was a little amused at how enthralling the ladies were without being overtly straight-up slutty. Yum.

Heh. Her hair was one (of several) things I dug about her. For some reason, giant butt plug didn’t leap into my mind when I saw it.

Or, presumably, anywhere else.

My I be the first to say that there is a lot about her to like?

Liked the music, too, BTW.

The video for the group’s previous single, Chelsea Dagger, features more of the same (and is a much better song, in my opinion). I believe the singer/guitarist is married to a burlesque dancer.

Fine, you take the blondes, I’ll take the brunette.

Funny, I had the exact opposite reaction. For the whole video, I kept on trying to figure out how the top of that dress managed to maintain static equilibrium in the face of the very dynamic forces to which it was subjected. It looked like it must have had a coefficient of friction with her ample assets of at least 1.5, possibly 2. I also wondered how many re-shoots they had to do, to edit out mishaps.

Got no complaints about the ladies at all; 2 slender blondes & a voluptuous brunette…what’s not to like?

I’m an old punk, blues & rockabilly fran from as long as I’ve been alinve, which is longer than punk’s been around, and about the song though: The verse, bridge & the guitar solo all work, but that “ba-da-dup-ba-da-oh-oh” just doesn’t fit, it breaks the momentum in a way that jst doesn’t work.

Looking forward to hearing more of their music, especially if they keep the girls in lingerie theme to their videos.

Dude, the physics center in your brain is way, way too active. My reaction was more like: “Gah, gah, let it slip!”

I kept thinking “Damn you, nipple tape! Let go of your draconian hold from her ample bosoms!”

I’ve seen the video a few times now… I have yet to even listen to the music.

Wow, I’d never heard of these guys til this thread, so I watched several of their videos on YouTube. There isn’t a song I didn’t like. “Henrietta” is probably my favorite.

And for the “Flathead” video, I cast my vote for the blonde in white. rawr.

And can I just add, slightly off-topic, thank the rock gods for YouTube. I came of age on MTV, which was the coolest thing ever growing up, because it PLAYED FRIGGIN MUSIC VIDEOS! I could actually see new artists, and “get into them” thanks to their videos.

I don’t get MTV2 right now, and besides, from what I’ve seen of it, it’s starting to pick up some MTV1 shows, so it’s not even doing what it was designed to do on a full-time basis.

I’ve discovered a number of very worthy bands on YouTube, which I probably wouldn’t have discovered otherwise. VIVA LA YOUTUBE!

Damn! Her (the brunette) body probably made Russ Meyer sit up in his grave.
