::Sigh:: if we have to shoot him ;); however, I don’t wanna traumatize Gordie so can we practice on Flytrap first?
I had to run out at lunch; I had a small umbrella but my pants are still wet 1½ hours later.
**spidey **- maybe try thesenext time???
I crack me up ![]()
And it is raining outside. maybe not for long, but the weather power I hold is still active.
Outside of that, nothing to report. Press on.
butters, before Nelson came to live with me, I had the same concerns about wires. I went to Pet Smart and got some bitter apple spray. I coated all of the wires and cables that were within his reach. It won’t hurt him but tastes naaaaasty. You may want to wear a dust mask when you use it because the mist will leave a horrible taste /smell in your face too.
**doggio **, count me as another who would sit for Gordie if you lived closer. Good luck.
Yay for the household income bump **nettie **!
cookie, it sounds like you need his and hers kitchen knives.
**bumba **, like flytrap (quelle horror!) , I think Biden is the most electable, much as I would like to see Elizabeth Warren win the primary.
EoM is done. I irked 2 hours over this evening. Nelson had fun at daycare today, according to the owner. There was a border collie pup in the mix that he played tag with (she texted me some pics at irk ). He’s a tah-red pupper tonight.
Howdy Y’all! I garnered provisions, did church stuff, made taco sallits, and also had some quality cee-mint pond time today. All in all not a bad day. Tomorrow I shall be a bear who N.O.L.es. Goin’ to a lunch ‘n learn thingy for Lay Eucharistic Ministers. I did this for a while some years back and am now gettin’ re-licensed.
Nettie yay for DH’s raise!
doggio of course Gordie could be your emotional support dog. He is necessary to keep The Invisible Mole People at bay with his eye lazors and mighty barks of doom.
Say what?
You some kind of pinko commie with foreign talk? :dubious:
Public transit ponderings: with recreational marijuana being legal in California if one is over 21, shouldn’t the stoners be able to obtain less horribly air-polluting smokables? Several times at the light rail station recently, it smelled like someone was smoking roadkill skunk. (And the stoners are no less rude about lighting up in no-smoking areas than tobacco smokers, FYI.)
And it will keep him out of the Wyoming Valley for a few more years. One of our major fears is his retiring back in our neck of the ridges.
I knew there was a reason I liked you best, Scarecrow. ![]()
Well, I’m off to see the family ------- all of whom are basically off themselves. Look for any headline beginning with “Elysburg”.
Have fun ruble!
Congrats nettie!
Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up and caffeinatin’. YAWN ‘Tis 74 Amurrkin out and clear with a predicted high of 95 and partly cloudy (mostly N.O.S.?) for the day. Not a whole lot on the agenda. I need to take care of some bankin’ and a couple other errands this mornin’, and then I shall be a bear who N.O.L.es as I mentioned yestiddy. Sup shall be grilled poke chops, oven baked squishes and zucchini (why does this word always looked misspelled?), parslied baby N.O.T., and rolls. Easy to prepare and tasty!
Ruble have fun with family. I trust y’all set up a bail money fund in advance.
Now I need more caffeine and rumbly tummy wants to be fed. Then, alas, alack, and bother, I must purtify and don appropriate bein’ about the public attire. Again, why must life be so hard!
Happy Thursday Y’all!
**RoxStar **is a mimic of epic proportions!! She’s apparently seen her parents use stick deodorant, because she’ll take one of her longer wooden blocks and rub it in her armpits like a container of Secret!
Then this morning, the sitter was running late, so I had to knock on the door. The kid watched in amazement, then proceeded to knock on the door herself! Now, if only it would work with the vacuum cleaner…
Last night’s rain bypassed us almost entirely. The driveway barely got wet. From the looks of weather radar, the bands were north and south of us. Dammit. Better luck today maybe??
Time will tell. Happy Moanday!!
Morning all. Obeyed the 5am micturation alarm, then went back to bed until 8am (have I mentioned how awesome retirement is?). Need to pay bills and visit bank, but that’s all I have on the agenda right now. Soccer meeting at 6:30pm.
ruble, if the family gathering is like others, just remember the Loudon Wainwright song and “Send lawyers, guns and money…”
Nettie, smoking the wildwood weed down here in Ali-bama still gets you tossed into jail, so that is a problem I do not have.
swampy, I need to take a couple of soccer classes to get re-qualified for the Fall season. They are on-line so I’ll probably do them on Firday.
All y’all have a good Thorsday (it is Thursday, isn’t it? Got up convinced it was Firday).
Happy Thorsday?
If today is Moanday I am really messed up.
Home from the park, is nice outside but it is already starting to get hot.
Ripple is wiped out, was a busy morning at the park, lots of dogs to play with.
Nothing special in the agenda for today.
Irk, house irk, and the front postage stamp needs whacking.
Thorsday is bill paying day, but nothing to do there since the only bills due this week are the mortgage and internet, and they come out automatically.
Sure as hell ain’t Moanday. Mom gave me a start.
Blurfage Irking, 1st of the month, ton of stuff to do Blurfage
Um, it was just a test… Yeah, that’s it - a test… Dunno where my brain was earlier. It is, in fact, Thursday which is my Firday. These 3-day work weeks are kicking my patootie! Four anna half months, and I’ll re-retire - perhaps for good this time?
Busy morning, trying to wrap up some stuff I’m doing for Baby Engineer - it appears I saved the worst till last. I’d like to get his stuff done today, but I just don’t know. It’s lunch time and I’m not gonna think about it for a few minutes.
Oops…It’s Warren Zevon with “Lawyers, Guns, and Money”. Loudon Wainwright wrote “Dead Skunk in the Middle of the Road” which may also be part of your family gathering…
Did my banking and pulled away a little to let the next person in, then stopped to count my money (I always make sure they counted right). The person at the drive-in window began blowing her horn, I wondered what she was doing, I had given her plenty of room, then she waved something and I realized that my driver’s license had stayed in the tube they use for drive-in banking. Much profuse thanking later, I came home and fixed lunch.
Do-Little will now be in charge of the day.
Yeah, but if you punch them in the nose they prolly won’t be able to identify you later.
Was gonna donate to one of the candidates this morning, but I just have a hard time doing it. I get enough emails and such from them already.
I think I’ll wait 'til the field shakes out a bit. Or create another bogus email account.
Don’t know what I want to do today. I could take the back off of the dryer and see if I can figure out why it’s squeaking.
Or crawl under the deck and look at the dryer vent to figure out a way to keep the mice out.
Or finish up filing the (much smaller) pile of papers next to the big filing cabinet.
Or waste the entire day on the computer.
Decisions, decisions. ![]()
Today wasn’t as hot as I thought it would be, so I got some more yard irk done.
My son is really getting on my nerves though, he doesn’t want to do anything.
Th neighbor is supposed to come over and get all the branches tomorrow, and bring his roofer friend to fix the shed roof. He already got me a bunch of free shingles that were left over from another job. I hope they do it, I hate waiting around for stuff to get done.
I got more trimming done in the other neighbor’s yard, I can actually make it over to the fence now. There are a lot of pretty flower pots laying around over there. Sometime I’ll gather them all up and see what is what.
I can only do so much though, my back starts to hurt and the itching makes me crazy. I think I’m allergic to something out there.
Evening all. Got another evening thunder-storm with copious amounts of rain. Kinda wish I hadn’t watered the lawn now, my water bill is more than twice as high as last month, shows I used 4,600 gallons of water (month before was 1,100, but I was on vacation much of it). I know there isn’t a leak in the house (I’d be wading in it), but wondering just how many times and for how long I did water the lawn. Will see what next months bill is like.
Big Bowl o’Sallit has been consumed and I’ll leave for the soccer meeting in about 40 minutes.
Also, got a call that I was going to get a great Direct TV deal ($69.99/month including Showtime), but only if I sent in 4 months pre-payment right now. I question if it was legit, and anyway I don’t deal with the ‘do it now or lose this deal forever’ crwod so I declined. May check Direct TV to see if this is a known scam.
All y’all have a great evening.
Down to my power pink underdrawers. Have fun **ruble **! Someone can start a go-fund-me page if you need bail. ![]()
nettie, perhaps they should look into some edibles for consumption in public places.
Today was a much easier one than the rest of the week (thank the irk gods ). As there is a count still upstairs for signature, I couldn’t begin the FoM reporting.
On the way home, I swung through the apartment office to re-up my lease. This is the fourth one here. It doesn’t seem that long.
