There's a birthday in Georgia MMP

Bleah. DH and I are both on the sick list. He stayed home today. I managed to irk, on only a few hours of sleep (his snoring was really bad). Plus side of the irk day: management provided a nacho bar for lunch. Minus: I was in a queue I hate.

Next week is really gonna suck. We are now at about 50 agents at my location. About 15 of these are new enough to still need a fair amount of hand-holding. In the last two weeks, we’ve dropped from four sups to TWO.

A lazy day. Walked the dog, visited my mom, had a medical appointment, but nothing much. Watched a lot of TV, and just saw the Golden Gate Bridge get destroyed in San Andreas. Earthquake movies can be creepy. I had a girl I knew in the Army, who as a ten year old rode out the Good Friday earthquake of 1964. and told me she saw the ground rippling like waves.

Worked a double. And it monsooned, so the drive home was fun. The pet sitter flaked out, so now I’m down to someone who can only meet while I’m at work , and a bartender recomended by Canadian Dave.*

I’m always up for hockey!

*which means taking the word of an Icehouse swilling furniner.:dubious:

It’s funny that you mention Canadian Dave. I used to ride with a guy a couple of times a year we called Canadian Dave. He would come to Tennessee and Kentucky from Montreal on the bike at the beginning of the summer and again around October. I don’t know what ever happened to him, but now you make me want to see if I still have a contact number for him.

We went to the dog park. There was a little blonde Pomeranian mix wandering around without a human outside of the fence. Eventually, a couple of us herded him into the small dog side, I took some pictures and posted on the HIP page for my town with the notation that I would be there for an hour. He was wearing a collar and I know he had played with Nelson there before, but I couldn’t picture his owner. We couldn’t catch him to look for a tag with contact info, so an hour and a half in, I called the PD to send an officer for a lost doggy. The officer was still there when I left. She said that Animal Control was enroute. I hope that the little guy finds his people.

Up, caffeinated, and sheveled. Off to work. Another double today.

Up, showered, dressed, and fed, working on caffeination. How efficient is that?!?!?

Today is clean-the-critter-fountain day and I’ll try to get some mowing done, too. And laundry, of course. Not sure what else will be on the agenda.

**doggio **- is a kennel out of the question? It’s hard to believe you’re having so much trouble for one little dog. Fingers crossed for a good resolution!

Happy Saturday!

Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up and caffeinatin’. YAWN ‘Tis 72 Amurrkin out and fair (as opposed to unjust?) with a predicted high of only 89 and possible rain/tstorms/apocalypse this afternoon and evenin’. We shall see. We were promised rain yestiddy but nuttin’ happened. No biggie plans for the day. Neither of us wants to leave da cave so fine by me. Mayhaps there shall be some quality cee-mint pond time. I shall make some deviled aigs and a gallon each of sweet and unsweet tea for tomorrow’s first Sunday brunch at the church house. I met our new music director/organist yestiddy and tomorrow he gets officially welcomed.

Now I need more caffeine and rumbly tummy wants to be fed. Then, onward into the day! Rah.

Happy Sattidy Y’all!

Ahhhh**** Weekend. What a long horrible week it was.

Today shall consist of sloth, laundry, and it looks like more rain which suits me just fine. I also need to bathe Buddy. I haven’t given him a bath yet so it shall be seen how he likes or dislikes being bathed.

Here’s hoping you find a dog sitter Dogiooo!

I have a question for Mumpers who have dealt with aging parents. It seems my mom is less and less willing to go out to events with crowds. Now I know her mobility is not as good, she uses a walker, but we can get her anyplace she wants to go that is accessible. She didn’t go to her grandson’s high school graduation. Last night, at her church, there was a farewell event for a former pastor who has been elected to national office in their church, and she decided not to go. This is the guy who did my dad’s funeral, mom was very fond of him. She said, “Oh, he won’t have time to see and greet everyone”

I take her to church about once a month. My sisters get her to medical appointments, and the occasional trip to the grocery, for a couple items. But crowded events seem to be putting her off, although she would always have us with her. Is this a usual thing with folks as they age?

butters, have fun bathing Buddy. He’s small enough (for the time being) to bath in the lavatory (that’s how I bathed Nelson when he was a puppy), so you shouldn’t have to stand on your head to do it.

baker, as we age, it takes a lot more energy to get ready and attend crowded events. I’ve noticed that my dad tends to attend visitation as opposed to funerals these days. The visitation doesn’t require him to sit in seating that may not be as easy on his bad hip. Just getting to an event takes energy too. Even at my age, I notice that I’m avoiding events with really large crowds because they’re not as enjoyable as they once were.

Up, caffeinating, breakfasting, puppy crate cleaned and towels in the wash. I will need to procure comestibles later and make an appearance at a 40th birthday party (in case you’re wondering, the birthday girl is the one for whom I attended her baby shower a month ago :o ). Sometime this weekend, I will finish rearranging the studio.

Home from the dog park. I don’t know why it makes me so tired when all I do is sit on my ass the whole time.
We were there for 2.5 hours, so Ripple is tired.

It’s already 80 degrees, supposed to get up to 88 and be N.O.S. all day.

You could ask Flytrap, but you would get a pages long rant.

Lots to do today. Since I have already irked over 40 hours this week, I took the morning off to get stuff done.
I guess I should get started.

Good luck with a pet sitter Doggio. If you were coming my way, you could drop him off here.

Last load in the washer - it’ll go in the dryer, then **FCD **and I are going to the BBQ place in Leonardtown. They have a chicken wing basket with what we call Chernobyl-size wings - they’re so big they have to come from mutant chickens!!! I’m not a wing fan, but they’ve got other stuff I like.

I decided to strip the bed this morning - I’ll need to remake the bed when I get home. And other than taking the clothes off the lines, there’s not much else to do. I’ll mow tomorrow, because I don’t feel like it today.

Oh, I did boil some eggs, and I’ll devil them a little later. That qualifies as supper, right?

I am not getting much of anything done today.
A few loads of laundry, which I am putting in the dryer since I don’t feel like hanging them outside.
I should hang them out considering how nice it is outside.
I tried sitting outside but the skeeters are too bad and I didn’t feel like spraying on the stinky repellent.

We got the ring doorbell put up, and then I had to spend time adjusting it. It was letting me know every time a car went down the street, and I live on a busy street.

Every where I look there is something that needs to be cleaned or put away, but I am feeling lazy, and so not much is getting done.

Well, rats. While I was knitting in front of Netflix, it rained. Not enough to soak everything on the clotheslines, but enough that I need to toss everything into the dryer for a little bit. Dammit.

So laundry is taking longer than I’d hoped. dammit.

The clothes were just slightly damp, so only 10 minutes in the dryer per load seemed to do it. Huzzah! Of course, after I brought everything in, the sun came out and stayed out…

Chillage shall ensue. Mowage tomorrow.

Mooooooom, throw some carrots and celery on the relish tray with the aigs and you will have a semi balanced supper.

Groceries are bought, I made an appearance at the party, a load of clothes is in the wash and a BBQ sammich for supper is et. Now to fold the second load of laundry and throw the last one in the dryer. Tomorrow, I will put the !@#$ed up printer on CL as in, but mention that there is a set and a half of ink involved, the full set new in the package (~$75 value) and list it for $50. If it doesn’t go, I’ll go as low as $30. Then I will move it and finish rearranging the studio.

Worked, came home. More tomorrow.

Out of the budget at the moment. And a 13 year old, 60lbs. JRT can be a lot of trouble.

Be careful with the offer. Next year’s hockey Convention is in New York, so it is on the way.:p;)

red, did you Dave regale you with tales of his best buddy Gordie Howe?:dubious:

Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up and caffeinatin’. YAWN ‘Tis 72 Amurrkin out and cloudy with a predicted high of 89 with rain/tstorms/apocalypse predicted for the day. We did get a fair amount of rain last night. I awoke to the call of nature around threeish this mornin’ and heard it rainin’ then. The big plan of the day is deheathenization followed by first Sunday brunch. As I mentioned yestiddy, we are takin’ a gallon each of sweet and unsweet tea and a platter of deviled aigs. We’re also bringin’ a sto’ bought (don’t judge!) pee-kahn pie. Lookin’ forward to hearin’ our new organist/music director play. This is also a common worship Sunday, so all the Luteruns and Whiskypalians shall be together.

CupCakes my mom was less inclined to go to big events the last couple of years of her life. She said crowds were somewhat overwhelmin’ and also, she would get tired quickly. However, come Firday mornin’, she had no problem whatsoever gettin’ up, gettin’ ready, and goin’ to get her hair done. Seriously, I believe it’s just a thing that happens as we get older. I still do stuff, but honestly, if I don’t just have to, I will avoid events with bigger crowds.

Now I need more caffeine and to feed rumbly tummy. Then, purtification for deheathenization must commence.

Happy Sunday Y’all!

I’m losing it. I’ve been up an hour and I got caught up on the MMP a bit ago, but I forgot to post. Like Dan Quayle said: What a terrible thing to have lost one’s mind. (I looked it up - I’d always heard it as "What a shame it is to lose your mind.)
There’s a hole in the roof of our new building - it appears a falling branch skewered it! It’s a metal roof, so not merely a case of a patch and a new shingle. I suggest that **FCD **contact some local roofing companies - I can’t imagine it’d be that expensive to fix. He wants to call the guys who built it, so that’s another option. Always something.

Happy Sunday, anyway!
