It’s fairly warm, grey and a bit misty, with chance of storm Ophelia tomorrow. It shouldn’t be bad here. Just got back from getting the bees ready for winter [del]making them tiny woolly hats[/del], rearranging the hive so’s they can get at the food when it gets cold. I only nipped round for a quick visit, but it turned into coffee, cake and an hour and a half chat.
Going round a skool friend’s later for dinner, partly to see if I can be IT support, 'cos she can’t get in too the skool system yet. It’s a wild social whirl, I tell you!
I need to pass those names to my daughter for my future grandbaby!
We let Bob Evans make breakfast for us and now we’re home. No real plans for the day - I’m about to assume the afghaning position in front of the TV. No sun yet, tho it seemed to be trying to poke thru the clouds as we drove home. We shall see.
**Nut **- good luck with Ophelia! With luck, it’ll just be windy and rainy for a bit.
Home. Refereed soccer Sattiday and then drove up to Indiana for my Braunsweiger fix (I’m good now to December). Find out I get about 25-26 MPG with my car when driving freeway, which is pretty good given the size of the beast.
Been to the Mellow Mushroom once, didn’t notice it being especially noisy, but it was not their rush hour. Did see a place in Colombia, Tennessee recently that advertised “Pizza and Grits” (I don’t even think swampy would approve that combination).
Otherwise I have 2 more weeks of coaching soccer (unless we advance in the tournament), followed by a couple weeks of refereeing, then I get a break…until January and indoor soccer (well, at least it keeps me out of trouble).
It’s not expected to be bad here- but then, it is the 30th anniversary of some other weather that wasn’t supposed to be bad (my paddling pool blew away in that one). We actually just had little not predicted thunderstorm come over… Hatches are battened down.
Just got back from skool friend’s. A group of 4 of us are supposed to be doing a short presentation tomorrow, including said friend; she’d said she was having trouble 'cos she doesn’t really do computers, (which is fine, she asked for help, did some of the research and made dinner) but it turns out no-one else had done anything either
Damn that hurts. Both the team and him since I know a lot of bikers who have done the same thing.
Desk is assembled in place and I am puttering around at unpacking things into it and making it “mine”. Those little-girl-like-squeels-of-joy coming from this direction are mine.
Any from the south probably involve Swampykins and a really good din-din.
swampy, were you the lector (not the cannibal kind) this morning?
doggio, I’m pretty sure that Nelson has no opposable thumbs to operate a plunger.
metal mouse, if I was going to eat in Columbia, TN, it would likely be at Betty’s Parkway Restaurant. While the sides are nothing to write home about, the steaks are fabulous.
I got most of the stuff on my list done. After I got gas, I swung around to Goodwill and got a nice cardigan, a pullover, a project case and accordian file for the studio and five CDs to take to irk. Broke the bank at $12.75.
It started raining buckets on the way home, so the patio winterization didn’t get done.
Howdy all. Back from our second RV trip. We have now backed into spots, and not just used pull thru sites. I feel all grown up. I thought the kids were going to kill each other the first night, but by the second day, things seemed mended. It was cold though; mid-30s each night. I was not expecting that.
