There's a party goin' on! DC/MD/VA/WV/PA/NC 6/28/03

I’d do it quickly. We’re only 4 days from D-Day.

Hey, gobear, fizzy and I should have room for you in our car. You’ll be sharing the backseat with Captain Amazing, and we should be leaving from Vienna Metro c. 12:45 or 1.

Thank you. I’ll be there.

Anyone need a ride from the Richmond, VA area? There are suddenly two seats freed up in my van.

Actually, I have room enough for one more from either the Baltimore area or suburban DC, if anyone is interested (and willing to spend that much time alone with me ;)).

Just got back from Party City!

All the party supplies (cups, plates, party favors, games, etc) are now in gear.

And on Sunday I went out to the winery. There’s now 28 bottles of wine waiting for y’all.

I got

May Wine
Mead
Raspberry
Blueberry
Plum
Spiced Apple
Currant and Apple
Dandelion
Blackberry

and even some grape for the traditionalists.

How’s that, kids?

I’m not drinking that day, but it all sounds nice. Maybe I’ll have a taste of the raspberry.

If there’s any left over you can take it with you and drink it in Edmonton.

How’s that?

I hate to sound like a party pooper, but will you have other adult beverages besides wine? It’s just that my body can’t handle wine (pesky anaphylactic shock!) and I would like to know if you need me to bring anything else.

We’ll have many types of beer.

I know we’ll have some Heineken (one of my staff asked for it), some Dominion Lager, some Guinness, and some Yeungling.

But I’m not a beer drinker so I’m always flailing here.

Any requests?

Another thing I was curious about - were you serious about having a corrall of sorts for the young’uns? We’re bringing various outdoor toys for Jake (5), but I know at one point you mentioned more formal distractions while Mary is playing (what with the profanity, blasphemy, and occasional cleavage flashing).

Guinness is always a good one, and perhaps some Bass for black and tans. If I’m being too greedy let me know and I’ll bring my own.

I was thinking about picking up some crab dip from a local restaurant and stuffing it in a cooler to take to the party. How does that sound JC?

That would be wonderful. Bring it on.

But don’t feel you have to. We’re the one’s responsible here.

Anna, please bring Jake. We couldn’t arrange anything with a clown or such (all I called were booked) but Lady Chance has vowed to keep them distracted.

I don’t know if ‘corral’ is the proper word but she’ll come up with something. Actually, she likes playing with kids more than conversing with adults most times.

I’ve got treats and Tim’s. Yeah, baby.

JC,

The forecast is looking good, but is the event rain or shine?

Nothing stops us, dammit.

We’re looking at…

100 people.

Holy cow!

In 23 hours the party starts!

Who’s ready for it?

I am.

I have some good news for you. I have three dozen rolls and 8 pounds of steak, and I’ll be going out tonight for the rest of the stuff that I need, so cheesesteaks are on for tomorrow.

Be prepared, for tomorrow you will be in the presence of greatness.

He talks a good game, don’t he?

Me!!

Damn! I fit the bill perfectly, but alas am too late to join in the fun. <pout>:smack:
