John von Neumann who?
Now see y’all, that’s how one should plan for an apocalypse. ![]()

Wintry Mix is approaching. gotti, doggio, you still have time to run to the store to get the last of the milk, bread, and tp. ![]()

Icky Commutapocalypse is approaching! From the standpoint that a lot of people here don’t have all-weather tires on their cars, and they don’t have ice scrapers, etc., I’m glad to be telecommuting. I expect there will be a lot of big 4x4 trucks and SUVs spun out tonight.
Oddly enough, I did go to the grocery store yesterday, and I did buy some milk, eggs and bread. Not because bad weather was coming, but because I was out of milk, eggs and bread. (Not that we eat a lot of bread to begin with - the lifelong eating plan after a gastric bypass is “Protein First!”) No problem on the TP scene - Amazon delivered a case of it last week.
John von Neumann who helped invent computers for knock knock jokes.
The snow or is it rain or is it sleet or is something wet from the sky in the Greater & Lesser Hampton Roads Area is predicted to start precisely at 3pm…or is that 1 pm…or is that 5pm…or is that 4:15 pm and 52 seconds. We are predicted to get 3 inches no 2 inches no 4 inches no a dusting and its going to last 3 hours or ALL NIGHT or .0002 micro seconds.
At any rates some amount of something is going to fall on us starting at sometime and lasting for somebit.
Got that?
hmmm :dubious:
well at least you followed the formula
I presume reservation in the name of “Mumper”.
Ifn I’s late, order for me; trout & mashed N.O.T. - so that when I arrive I can commence whapping/throwing as appropriate.
Eesh, you lot don’t half have proper cooold. I’m chilly here, and it’s only just around freezing!
Mind you, the house has basically 0 insulation, and the heating’s off. It’s not that I’m a wuss, honest!
You all need to come have a mumpfest near me, I’m all envious
Oh well, I needs to do some cooking today, that should warm me up. Happy firday!
Wow. It is hella foggy in DFW. So much so, that the FAA has told other airports they may not send planes to us. We’re still allowed to send planes out, though, which I find a little confusing.
Work remains insane. I thought we were going to be clear, but it turns out there’s a whole 'nother chunk of department moving this weekend, and the end users panic when their computer equipment isn’t arranged exactly the way it had been before the move. Between that and actual problems (what do you mean the power outlets for three rows aren’t hot?) and the non-stop parade of new employees who need computers, it’s a little hairy.
But good. Because “job security” is a phrase I like.
I just had the most brilliant sure fire make bazillions idea! See, I was dumpin’ some coffee grounds cause I’m all nice like that and mention was made by a co-irker about how her father used coffee grounds in his worm bed when she was a kid. This led to the idea of we should have a wormbed at irk bein’ as we have a lot of coffee grounds which gave way to the brilliant idea of “The Georgia Department of Labor and Bait Shop.” How could that not be anything but a winner!
flytrap I laughed.
They have to arrange their furniture to block network drops and AC outlets.
Filbert, we furriners can have our own little mumperfest, the likes of which will make the whole rest of 'em so envious they’ll turn greener than a green thing.
Cap’n - don’t suppose any of your tour dates include travels over large bodies of water, do they?!
Yeah! We c’n have cake and beer and it’ll be awesome. Aren’t there only like… two or three of us over here though?
Haven’t crossed the Pond since '10, you know the IcelandicVolcanApacolypse and have never been to the UK or Ireland. That said my main client is English and with a little luck I will be heading that way. If/when I head that way you all will know.
Gotta get moving
Cheers all, Happy Friday
Jim
Count me as 1 for tomorrow.
I was up half the night with an upset stomach but I think it is something I ate, not anything I caught.
If that changes I’ll let you know.
SOME folks here have class…
Afternoon! Well almost at least…8mins according to the clock on my screen.
