There's no more home, an MMP

“Iolanthe” orchestra rehearsal tonight. Yay!

I have skettie sauce simmerin’ away. Da cave smells so nummerific right now! Sketties, garlic bread and sallit for dindn. OYKW called and said he’s about an hour away and hongry. Can’t have that, now can we!

DRIVE-BY HI!

Back to work :stuck_out_tongue:

it’s friggin snowing.
I hate snow.
I wonder how much we are supposed to get - I hear an inch but it sure is coming down hard.

Now to go try to eat something. My tummy has gone beyond rumbles into growls, but it is still feeling sore so we’ll see.

Hey, did anyone else hear that? I thought I just heard someone say hi…

I’m starting a beekeeping course tomorrow. Hope I learn lots!
Not going to be too hands on unfortunately, the bees is all snoozin’ away for the winter (presumably with tiny nightcaps on, but I’m not sure how this all works yet).

Been looking forward to this for ages, after last years course didn’t happen- I got broken and dropped out, and I think it wound up being cancelled 'cos there weren’t enough people without me. It’s full this year though, I got the last place!

I hope they teach me to do this.

Icky Commutapocalypse is in full swing now, and there are 50 active accidents working on the police website.

Fortunately, DH was able to leave work early before the madness started as his usual route was blocked with multiple accidents about an hour ago. The freeway has been re-opened recently, but the backup will probably not go away for another two or three hours.

With weather like this, I almost wish there was a way to call my UPS driver to say “I’m in no hurry - Monday would be fine”

Snow sucks.

You can be nekkid with the bees, I think I will pass

Jim

After six months doing IT Change management for the State of Georgia, this does not surprise me.

“Hey, the change didn’t work, and we need this fixed. The entire building is down.”
“How many people are impacted?”
" … one?"
“We’ll get right on that.”

Home. yay. We’ve been getting flurries an the driveway is white, but no big deal so far. We shall see how it goes. I have no idea what to do for supper. I’ve got shrimps in the freezer, but I can’t think of anything exciting to do with them, and I don’t feel like messing with scampi. We may eat mac-n-cheese. Who knows?

We got our W2s today and I got my retirement 1099, so think I can do our taxes. And then there’s the whopping $12.60 in interest from our credit union…

So, for SpideyFest - I’m a definite yes, **FCD **is a tentative maybe, since he’s working tomorrow, **BBBobbio **is a yes and I’m guessing VWife isn’t interested? **sari **is a go as long as she doesn’t contract plague overnight, and **tugig **plans to attend barring unforseen circumstances. By my count, that’s 5 or 6. I’ll PM my cell number to all concerned, but you need to remember that I don’t have a texting plan and I have a very basic phone, so if you want to contact me, you’ll have to actually talk on the phone. :stuck_out_tongue: I’ll be leaving my house between 4 & 4:30. Should I make the reservation for the Cecil Adams party?

And thus endeth another week…

Supper decision has been made -we’re trying a local pizza place that delivers. We’ll see how that goes. If it sucks, we’re just out $23, including tip.

Happy belateds to all of our birthday folk.

I’m sorry I’ve pretty much been MIA around here. Work is just crazy and I’m pretty down about it. The “fiscal uncertainty” just throws more crap on on top of the spectacularly high manure pile and makes everything even worse.

Have fun at the mini-fest tomorrow. You all live on the wrong coast, damn it. It seems my chances of seeing **FCM **and those around her are slim due to the extremel budget cutting. TDYs are pretty much gone, so it’ll be a good long while before I ever get to DC again. Which is a shame, because I had a great time the time I get to meet FCM, welby and his wife.

In other news, my son is much, much, much happier since switching his major and has become communicative again. That poor kid was just miserable for the last year and a half. He’s very, very happy now and is finally having some fun at University as well as having to deal with work for the classes. Before, it was all work, all stress, and no fun at all.

He’s now Skyping and sending messages again. We were so worried about him.

Today is my RDO and I was fully planning on going to work, but my head and stomach decided to rebel at around 1:00 am this morning and I spent the rest of the night/morning up and feeling crappy. It’s all down to a dull roar now, so I’m hoping I’m on the road to recovery and not flu which is flying around the workplace.

I can’t be sick, we’re bringing MiL to the house for four hours on Sunday to celebrate her birthday. That’s the longest she can be gone from the nursing home without getting kicked out. Any longer, and Medicare says you’re “too well” to be in a nursing home.

Finally, tomorrow is my 27th wedding anniversary. I will celebrate  by going into work for six hours, coming home, and then going to some friends’ house for dinner and Dexter night. I would much rather not go into work, but I have to for Performance (Business) Planning.

dinner was Manhattan Clam Soup, with extra clams, and shredded mozzarella. yummy and gooey. Dessert is Bigelow’s Raspberry Royale tea with RaspberryLimeSeltzer.

Dindin is et and was good. I made a sallit with baby spinach, arugula, some shredded cabbage, some iceberg lettuce, some romaine lettuce, mandarin oranges, sliced fresh strawberries, chopped pee-kahns and a raspberry vinegarette dressin’. 'Twas very tasty! Plus sketties and garlic bread! There’s even ice cream for later. Life is good.

Nuts that picture, well, it’s just nuts!

No snow here. The signs must be workin’.

ETA: The sweet lady, the other “Miss Mary” who always called me handsome passed away under hospice care this mornin’. RIP Mary Bridger.

I’m sorry about Miss Mary, Swampy.

Thanks Taters. She had AD for several years so it’s a case of she had not been really “with us” for a while. Heh. YP and I were talkin’ about her Wednesday and he said one of his fondest memories will always be the fact that she always told him how much she enjoyed his sermon even on Sundays when he didn’t preach.

Of course, me bein’ ever the smartass said, “Yeah, those do tend to be your best sermons.”

Gee, swampy, does this mean you’re not handsome any more?

We may have found us a new pizza place. Delivery was slow, but it was traffic, which doesn’t surprise me since 3 or 4 snowflakes are falling. The calzones were quite good. So screw you, PapaJohn! I’ll be supporting a local joint instead.

Plus I have a brownie for dessert. Yum!

Hey, as long as there are disease addled brains out there I stand a chance of still bein’ handsome.

Ah, so that’s how I’ll know that my brain is being addled by disease - if you start lookin’ good to me…

Dinner was a can of soup, some kind of Progresso Meatball something or another. Wasn’t bad, wasn’t good, but it wasn’t bad.
Snow has stopped for now.
I’m tired, I’m logged into irk until 10, then I can go to bed.
