Greetings from Onley, VA. No I weren’t sposed to be here but given I got a call that the race in No-fok-a has been cxl’d (1/2" os snow - really?!?!?) I didn’t see a point in driving the last 80 miles. I woulda gone home but I wanted to give the ONE plow truck in the SE part of Merrylande a chance to go over the road, especially with the lousy wipers on the rental. (It was night & day between MD & VA)
So is ** Moommm, Sari, Bobbio, Tugig**, & anyone attending up for a lunchtime mumperfest instead? There’s nothing around here, not even a nearby bar. I can’t see hanging out til dinnertime.
The temp hit 50F today and the sun came out. This is not the winter the kids and I are accustomed to, they have actually been whining about the lack of snow and cold, lol.

Walked across the lot to McD’s. Confidental to the guy getting out of car in this lot & going into his room; yes I noticed it was in a belt clip holster but maybe put the gun under your jacket instead of walking around with it in your hand. :eek:
Ugh. Went to rehearsal today, and it went well, as usual but - like with almost every rehearsal lately, I’ve been wondering which orchestra member is the unusually flatulent one. I’d like to find out who it is - and give them the stink-eye.

I’m gonna leave about 1115. Dang, that means I need to get started on my chores already… guess it’s a good thing the idiot dog woke me at 5 in the freekin’ morning on Saturday.
I do have the dishwasher running. I need to get the laundry downstairs, sort it, and start washing. I also need to put one final coat of paint on the kitchen trim, which means I need a fire down there so it’ll dry properly. And since I need to make a reasonably good first impression, I should probably shower. Well, Spidey, you better be worth all this!
I watched the weather channel this morning - we’re looking for highs in the 60s on Tues and Weds. Weird weird winter. But that’s actually good, because I can let the pellet stove cool down so’s I can clean it out - the ash is getting pretty deep.

The Wintry Mix wasn’t as bad as feared, as is usual this winter. It was a slippery drive in yesterday morning. It’s going to be getting warmer today so any remaining slippery will evaporate away. I could have run my errands yesterday afternoon, but I didn’t trust the other drivers so I stayed home.
The ice was from fair to :eek: on the roads here. There’s a layer of ice on the complex pool. Anyone wanna come over and play pond hockey? otherwise, I’m up, caffeinating, and getting ready for irk.

I need more caffiene and rumbly tummy demands sustenance. We shall drop OYKW’s vehicle off to get new shoes this mornin’ and go do some errands whilst that happens. We may or may not have N.O.L. out. We’re all willy-nilly like that.
Filbert, the beekeeping course sounds like fun! I’m not sure sure about the nekkid-with-bees bit but after a vodka or three I would probably give it a go. Besides, this now means we can have beer and cake and honey at our mumperfest…
It snowed again here last night but seems to have thawed a little this morning. The forecast is for milder temperatures and rain today so tomorrow will be icy. I have already spoken to my doting parent and she has insisted that I stay at home and not venture over to hers as planned tomorrow. In that case, I shall spend my day impersonating a sloth.
Before that, I will be cooking haggis for dinner tonight. I know Burns Night was yesterday, but I like to be different.
I really do not feel good today. Yesterday it started and I hoped it would go away by the time I woke up this morning. No such luck and I have class at 10:45. I just had a cold two weeks ago, if that, and I do not appreciate this happening again.
Hey, **BooFae **and **Filbert **- keep this in the back of your minds… next year sometime (probably summer) my mother and I hope to cruise around the British Isles in celebration of her 80th and my 60th birthdays. Depending upon the cruise, we may hang around jolly olde England for some touristy stuff, so perhaps there may be a wee little mini-Mumpfest there?? I can’t be more specific because most cruise lines haven’t posted their 2014 schedules yet, but you were sounding so sad that you’re so far from our Merrylande Fest…
Poor Sticky… I’m still occasionally cough-y and snuffly since my disease-ridden Christmas week. Seems the cold germs this year just won’t give up! Stoopit germs.
I’ve got a fire started in the basement, so it’s starting to warm down there. First load is in the dryer, second in the washer. Once the second load goes in the dryer, it should be warm enough to break out the paint. I’ll have tons of time to spare before leaving for Spidey-Lunch! Enough time even to top off the gas tank. So yay!
