Well, rosie, they both have beards, and they’re both male, but that’s where the similarity ends. OK, they’re both really nice guys, too, but that’s about the end of it. Plus there’s the 8 legs…

what do you use a rubber mallet for in quilt making :dubious:
I mean, I may be a serious newbie in the whole quilt thing but that is a new one for me.
On a related note, I am almost done with the baby’s quilt. My twins keep stealing it from me and using it to make tents, water, and table cloths for play time, so it is taking a little longer than expected.
On a less related note, I am getting huge. Beached whale, small planet, Jabba the Hut all come to mind.
remind me never to order calamari when I get delivery. They were barely hot when they arrived and as they cooled they got really rubbery, blech :p.
Apie - the mallet bangs out the tempo to which the elves stitch the squares together.
LOL
The mallet has something to do with flattening seams on a kaleidoscope pattern that I sure as hell don’t understand.
Check out the picture I just shared on your Facebook timeline.
Bon appetit!

Happy Taterversary!!!
We got some rain in Albuquerque today, that is definitely something to cheer about! I was just sitting outside for a bit, but it’s gotten chilly because the wind is blowing. It looks like the nearby mountains got snow–the peaks are surrounded by clouds, which is usually a sign that it’s snowing there. It rained most of the day but this will not make much of a dent in the drought, unfortunately. Oh well, every little bit counts.
We’ll have chili tomorrow with cornbread - it would have been fixed today but someone forgot to take the package of meat out of the freezer last night! :smack: LOL So … chicken thighs are in the oven for tonight.
I haven’t heard anyone talking about the Super Bowl - as much as I do like the 49ers, I gotta go with the Ravens, I think, being that I went to University of Delaware.
Go Joe!

Weird. Most quilters press seams with a steam iron.
Unless… Is she quilting with leather? Way back when I used to work in leather, I’d press seams with either a ball peen hammer or a big steel roller very similar to this. Mine’s nicer though. ![]()
My early morning has caught up with me. I think I’m gonna crash.
Nighty-night!!
I realize how completely lame this is going to sound, but it took me at least 10 minutes to talk myself into typing in my email and password in order to log into facebook. It’s been at least 3-4 months since I’ve been on. I wanted to update my blog site’s webpage or else I wouldn’t have done it yet.
Dear God how much I hate it. Seriously, I was on there for maybe an hour and now I feel like I want to go hide under a rock for a week or so. It’s not the same without him there.
Irked, came home, chatting with Hockey Lady:)
Happy Taterversary!!!
Glad the mini-Mumpfest went well. One day I’ll make it.
Sticks, it’s not lame. Dave made you very happy, it’s natural to feel bad about shared things.
I can’t possibly imagine how terrible that is.
I know that “I’m sorry” doesn’t help worth a damn.
I don’t think **Mooooooooom **will like you calling her Hitler, for that matter. I know you can’t be talking about me, I have more moustache and less hair that Adolph had.
Could have done without whatever bug I managed to acquire. Blurf.
In other news, managed a scrambled egg concoction that DH actually liked, and he doesn’t usually like scrambled eggs that much. Guess pepperoni, cheese, and Italian seasoning works for him.
Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up and caffienatin’. YAWN 'Tis 40 Amurrkin out with a predicted high of 66 and sunny. A Winter’s day in south Jawja.
OYKW said last night he’s gonna be a slug this mornin’ and not deheathenate. The heathen!
So, since I’m up I think I shall purtify and go deheathenate with the Lutherans at nine o’ clock. The Lutheran Pastor is doin’ both services today as YP ran away with his wife for a couple days to celebrate his birthday. Can’t say as I blame him what with a funeral comin’ up Tuesday and another later on. Another dear, sweet older lady of the church passed away late yesterday afternoon. RIP Miss Betty. She also had AD for several years and was in Hospice. Still sad though.
Now I need some more caffiene and rumbly tummy wants to be fed. Then I shall purtify and go deheathenate Lutheran style.
Happy Sunday Y’all!
I think I got lots of sleep, huzzah! I was crashed before 9, woke a couple of times to pee, then around 7, both cats decided they had to stand on me. I was dreaming that we were back at one of our houses in FL and we were turning it into a zoo. We even had a baby elephant, but when you petted it, gross goo came off on your hands. I have no idea what any of it means!
And I have no idea what the plans for today are. Today shall be spontaneous! Yay!
Happy Sunday!
Happy (belated) anniversary, Taters!!
I too am jealous of the Maryland Mumpfest. And I, too, am on the coast – Alas, wrong continent…
**Swampy **-- sorry about Miss Mary
{{{Sticks}}} – I can understand you completely.
Spent all of the weekend with a bad cold. Woke up better this morning. Somehow I always manage to be under the weather on the weekend (i.e., on my own time…)
Morning. Today I’m going to watch hockey practice(with free beer!) then do laundry.
FCM, maybe you were petting the wrong end of the dream elephant?
Hugs to you sickies.
Sure, that’s what she *wants *you to think. I’d start wearing a hard hat around the house if you catch my meaning.
Made The Hippy Breakfast today - biscuits and groovy.
I see laundry in my future. My cooking project is Potato, Sausage, and Kale soup.
