It doesn’t look like anyone else has started a thread about this, so I will.

Thing-a-Dayis ready for its 6th edition! Thing-a-Day is described as a “creative sprint” in which you commit to doing one creative thing a day for the month of February and posting about it.

It’s a huge amount of fun. The absolute best part is seeing what everyone else does. Your creative “thing” can be anything – art, craft, writing, music, design, computer animation, you name it.

For those of you who participated last year, it looks like they’ve abandoned the Posterous platform and have gone back to WordPress. YAY!

Sign up before Jan. 31 and let the creating begin!

I just came here to post about this! I just signed up and I hope the Wordpress set up is easier to use.

Yeah, Posterous was a mess last year, I ended up doing very little posting – and not much reading, either, which is the other thing that’s so fun.

Anyone get their invitation for Wordpress yet? I’m wondering how long it takes.

Thanks, freckafree. I tried to find it earlier in the month, and couldn’t. I thought maybe they weren’t doing it this year.

I’m in! With the cruise in a couple of weeks, I may not make the whole month, but I will definitely try. Would artsy-fartsy sunset photos from the ship count? :slight_smile:

I hated the format last year, so I mostly posted things on my own blog. I will try the WordPress thing and see how it goes, but if it’s a pain, would it be okay with you guys if I share links to my creations here? I really enjoyed seeing everyone’s talents last year! How will we find each other on the official site?

I’m doing another of these collaborative kind of things (the Year of Jewelry Project). It’s on WordPress and I find it very easy to post stuff. I just downloaded a WordPress app for my iPhone, too.

Crap! It’s not allowing me to sign up (at least on Mozilla). I’ll try again late. I missed this last year, and I have been thinking about this quite a bit over the last few days.

I just got the login email, and have done so.

Since I have another blog page at Wordpress, I’m participating under my real name this year. Said name is not a huge secret, but I don’t go out of my way to post it here, so if you’d like to make sure you can follow me, and you don’t already know it, PM me and ask.

Any Wordpress pros out there – do we want to set up a subgroup? Would it be hard to do so?

I just got got the e-mail, too. I’m subscribed under the name “bebopbeads.”

twicks, as I remember, it was a whole lot easier on the WordPress platform to follow other posters, and there really wasn’t a need for a separate sub-group.

I’m up for this … I have a Creative Writing class scheduled to begin TOMORROW … I desperately want to KILL my Writer’s Block …

Last year’s was really fun! I don’t think I’ll be able to do anything this year; I have a one-man cabaret show coming up on the 12th, and a concert on the 13th, both of which are rather occupying my time at present.

Still - I look forward to seeing everyone else’s work this year!
