I like long hair on girls but I don’t have it myself. It’s not that I think I’d look bad, it’s that I get headaches unless I buzz my hair very closely. But I also agree that big boobs are overrated (well, not on guys, cause they’re bad on guys too but they’re not overrated :))

I bow to your experience. I’m not a woman, nor do I have long hair (I’ve practically no hair - I trim it scalp close), but as a black man I’ve been in innumerable conversations with other black men about what’s attractive. A great deal of it was summed up by Sir Mix-A-Lot (though that’s not my own preference), but the talk has ranged over the whole of female anatomy and long hair hasn’t come up once. Hence my own “yeah, right” reaction to the above.
I’m thinking age might be a factor, as I’m in my 40s; long hair isn’t common in my age group.
It’s mostly overrated for natives. If you lived here, you’d choke on the ridiculous amount of state pride. It doesn’t just border on fanatical, it kills that puppy like a former marine sniper in a bell tower. < shudder >

On the other hand, lots of black women use harsh chemicals which prevent long hair. I can see how the rarity of long hair would make black men love it more than your average guy.

Home ownership is overrated. My family members who decided to do it all complain and cry about it now. To be fair, I have never owned a home, but I just can’t imagine it being something I ever want to do, let alone it being the American Dream.

I’m always wondering when I’ll be too old to pull off long hair. I’m 30 and my mom said 30-year-olds used to look more grown up than they do now. She said it I want people to start thinking I’m a real adult I should cut my hair and dress more formal. Not happening 
But nobody tells me they love hazel eyes.

I’m a woman and date black men. I have shoulder length hair, and it seems we’re not really on the same wavelength here. I think men in general regardless of race, all things equal, prefer long hair to short. That said, I also have found most don’t get too crazy about it though. Most don’t seem to go in for super duper short hair, but outside of that, so long as you’re pretty and your hair looks nice, meh. Like others have said, you’re going to get complimented on whatever it is you look like. Do men everywhere love women who look just like me? No, but the ones who are attracted to me do.
But anyway, things that are overrated in my book: I dunno, mimosas I guess. Way too filling without enough pay off. Oh, and all foods that take two really awesome things and then combine them. They never taste like a synergy of fantasticness. They always end up tasting like a good thing ruined by doing something silly to it. I’m looking at you, lobster corndogs.
