Doesn’t sound like it is refusing your e-mail address, judging from what you yourself just wrote. Sounds like maybe you forgot your password and you are attempting to do something (e.g. change it) that requires your old password. I don’t recall ever being asked for my password when I switched from guest to member status.

Did you try entering your current password, as the error message you provided appears to indicate it wanted? As well, I just checked - switching from guest to member status does not appear to require a password. So, you’ll need to accurately explain what you are trying to do.

First time it let me actually save my password.
I had a stroke a bunch of years ago,and have a password saver that keeps
all of my accounts in with my password.
Do not know what happened,but I joined this site a few years back,the first time I logged
out it gave me hell signing back in until now.

Maybe your password program was pasting things in with caps lock on, and turning it off fixed it.
