I spent the day giving the Stately Manor a thorough cleaning which gave me a sinus headache. Guess I need to dust more often.
I’m trying to write something today. So far this post is the longest and most coherent thing I’ve written in the last half hour. Regaining momentum is hard.
Howdy Y’all! We got home from the church house a little after two this afternoon. Upon arrival at da cave, we changed into comfies and both of us achieved nappage. I took care of a couple chores and went to Ferd’s to get some Diet Poopsie and Dr. Pepper as it’s on sale there. Real excitatin’ day, huh? I have one more chore. At some point I must drag the biiiiiiiiiiiiiiig trash can down to the road as tomorrow is trash day. It’s also back to irk for da bear day. Rah.
Oh lord, the bears are getting into the trash cans again.
I finally got a page written once I figured out how to start the chapter. I shouldn’t’ve taken two weeks off noveling, but I kind of had to what with a head cold and working and having a sad.
Speaking of a sad, I came home yesterday to find Papa Cardinal lying in my garden with a broken neck. I blame one of the roving neighborhood cats. He has been given a decent burial.
I have also achieved laundry and will, so help me, get it all sorted today. Tomorrow is back to work for me too. Double
And something must be done about peeing cat. Sigh. I have had cats my entire life and, while they occasionally have expressed themselves about something very annoying or stressful to them, I’ve never had one that just decided to use every available surface except her litter box. I guess the next stop is the vet, to make sure she’s not ill.
Got groceries and filled up the truck.
Had soft pretzels filled with cheddar cheese for a semi-dinner.
Trying to get myself organized here. I have lots to do lately and I need to make sure I don’t miss anything.
My mother may be moving into the senior apartment within a month, something came up available sooner than expected.
I just want to get this stuff done so I don’t have to think about it.
I’m tired of her back and forth with what she is keeping and what she is giving away, and telling me to take something, then changing her mind.
**Sunny **- I’ve been told that UTIs can cause cats to pee all over the place - hope it’s something as simple as that.
I just packed lunch for tomorrow. I wasn’t up to doing a week’s worth today. Maybe tomorrow. I’m done fr today - waiting for Galavant at 8, then bedtime.
Is this the sto’ with the sale priced diet poopsie, swampy? http://m.fredsinc.com/
I’ve been busy putting together pics for Dede’s funeral. I’ll be heading north after my doctor’s appointment Tuesday morning.
red that is indeed the infamous Ferd’s Sto’. Ferd’s is within a mile of da cave but I won’t use the pharmacy, which would be the most convenient pharmacy to me, because, well, the sto’ is junky and I don’t want meds from a junky place. Poopsie, ice cream, cleanin’ supplies etc are ok to buy there however.
BigKitty pic-a-nic season is over and a bear’s gotta eat, so trash cans it is.
sari is your mom one of those people who will cram three thousand square feet of stuff in a twelve hundred square feel space? I have a friend like that. I will not go in her house because it’s near impossible to walk around in there and I fear the floor will cave in under the load of all that stuff. Amazingly enough, the place is always clean. At least it looks clean. Who knows what’s behind all that stuff.
What sort of criminal activity would cause a toll booth operator to call the highway patrol to come search the car and the driver right there in the middle of the toll plaza? And why would said activity not cause the driver to just drive through without paying and take the penalty for that rather than be busted? This happened in the lane next to me at the Delaware Memorial Bridge this afternoon and I’m dying to know what was going on. My best guess is that the driver was actively doing drugs or something while going through the toll booth, like maybe he rolled down the window to pay and out wafted the sweet stench of pot. But then I paid my toll and had to leave the scene behind. Too bad.
My mother has too much stuff.
She was never one to keep a lot of junk around but she changed after my father died. She still wasn’t too bad until she dated bf1 who was a bit of a hoarder, and when his mother died a bunch of that stuff ended up in her house. Bf2 had a lot of stuff and brought a lot to her house. I swear I am not exaggerating when I said he had at least 150 shirts. He had 16 pairs of khaki pants hanging from a pipe in the basement - and he had more pairs at his house and his vacation trailer down the ocean. He went yard saling every weekend and was always bringing something back with him. I never saw his vacation trailer but I heard it was pretty full.
Then the HFH came with all their junk and it really was looking like a hoarder house. Literally a path from the front door through the living room into the dining room.
She has been working on getting rid of stuff but there is still so much to get rid of.
I can’t really afford it but I’m thinking of getting a mover, take everything I want, have them load it up and bring it here. I wonder if they would clean out the attic - I’ll take everything, sort through it, throw it away or donate it.
Then her house would be cleaned out, and I won’t have to listen to her bitch about it anymore. If anybody gets pissed off that I took everything - that is their fault for not getting over there and getting their shit out.
Spent my day off at work. We have this system we call the call-them-all; sometimes when we are expecting heavy volume it will robo-call all us and let us know we can log in and sign up for extra time. Today, at 1:30, I got a call that basically said “we’re screwed right now and if you can come on for 3:00 that would be terrific”. Well -------- this is so out of character and so much not-the-norm that I just HAD to go in and see how bad it was. Nothing like Friday but it was bad. And both me and my manager were glad I went in. So while tomorrow is my actual Monday I got a head start.
My mother doesn’t have a LOT of stuff but she still has all the stuff my Gramma Rose (her mother) had when she died in 1984 and all the stuff of Dad’s from when he died. And when mother eventually shuffles off this mortal coil, my brother will feel obligated to deal with it all himself; coming from Florida and probably moving in for a couple weeks to do it.
I have already told the cousins who clean up after us “What you can have fun dealing with, do so. Everything else, here’s the list of who to hand it off to. And if I know in advance that we’re going to be croaking, expect a nearly empty house”.
That’s a long way of saying you got my sympathy and best wishes.
With some of the TMI comments we get around here, I wouldn’t be surprised if someone posted that one of these days. :dubious:
Ran, groceried, made dinner, did laundry. Still gotta put the rest of the (non-perishable) groceries away…& maybe some of that special carbohydrate water (yanno, the kind with hops & yeast in it) to replenish from my run.
Dang old arthritic knee is acting up. I guess due to the cold front coming through. It hasn’t been bothering me for a while until now. Always something.
I have been largely MIA due to holidays and only just getting home at new year in order to start catching up with myself. My head is in the wrong timezone and I am not sleeping when I ought to, consquently I is all snoozy in the afternoon or early evening instead of late at night.
Hope you all had good times over the holidays and are all set for a happy new year. Must be better than the last one, right?
