This Is The MMP

More for me!

: throw rice :

Irked, came home. More irk tomorrow.

: checks flytrap into the boards, steals watermelon :

Yay for money, Nut! Buy something nice but cheap.

The heat in ABQ has finally broken. Well, at least the 100 degree plus heat. It’s still summer and still hot, just not as hot as it has been. Whew! And monsoon season is here, although we have not seen any of the rains where I live in ABQ just yet. As I have found out through experience, it can be raining buckets outside my home and two blocks away be as dry as a bone!

You’re in my prayers, Taters, as is kai, and your families.

Congrats to Haze and IrishHubby now! Hope you have a wonderful honeymoon.

They are already setting off fireworks around here - imo they shouldn’t be setting off any in uncontrolled areas, the fire danger is that bad, seriously. Plus the noise makes me jump! LOL I feel so badly for the poor pets though - firecrackers are very scary for cats and dogs. :frowning:

Well, hope everyone has a great holiday or just a great Wednesday even. LOL Yes, I know the 4th is on Thursday. :smack:

Blurf.

Is it Five O’clock here yet?

Great news, Nuts - I also vote for doing something fun with a bit of the cash and then being all adult and sensible with the rest.

I am at irk, it is not yet irksome because yesterday I had a productive meeting with someone and have actually achieved something! An item has been ticked off my list, hurrah! Now I need to go and hassle some folks for the rest of the stuff I need from them.

Maybe I’ll have a cup of tea first though.

Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up and caffienatin’. YAWN ‘Tis 73 Amurrkin with a predicted high of ONLY 85 and rain, rain, rain, rain, rain. We have a flood watch in effect until Firday evenin’. Rah.

Ok, that’s all I got for now. I need more caffiene and rumbly tummy is hongry. Then, alas, irk purtification must commence.

Happy Hump Day Y’all!

We’re in Ireland at the moment, but not on our honeymoon; this is just our yearly sojourn to see his family, and we had to get married in Ireland as well as Korea for legal reasons, so we just had a ten minute ceremony at the local town hall with his mum and sister and her wee ankle biters present. We’ll have the proper do this October in Korea, with more people present. We’ve put off our honeymoon for a bit til we have enough money saved up to go somewhere like South Africa.

I woke without benefit of puppy, altho when I was approaching her cage, she started rattling the door. At least my arising was my own circadian rhythm.

My main outdoor plans today involve getting all the daylilies in the ground. That shouldn’t take more than an hour. Then depending on how I feel, I may attack some weeds. We shall see. I’m thinking a trip to the convenience center might be in order, too.

Haven’t heard from my sis about my car - she was supposed to register it yesterday so I can get it off my insurance. My call wasn’t returned. She’s edging closer to* The List*…

Yay, Haze!!

Time for more caffeination. Happy Wednesday!

Congratulations, **Haze **and IrishCoffee!

It’s a gray rainy morning here in the mountains. Today’s irk goal is to get my paperwork caught up and then [del]work on my story[/del] catch up on a couple of projects I’ve been putting off. Today’s after-irk goal is to restock my supply of carrot sticks and restart my cross-stitch for the third time in a different place since I keep messing up when I start in the same place.

Congratulations, Haze!!!

Forgot to say earlier, Congratulations, **Haze **and IrishCoffee!

Yes I copied and pasted from Spaz. I’m lazy. Get over it. :stuck_out_tongue:

Happy Hump Day!

It’s a cloudy 72 degrees out.
I feel like hell.

When I got to the cats houses yesterday I walked in and thought what is that smell.
I had left their food bowls on the counter and there they sat, uneaten and stinky. Fortunately they also get dry food so they didn’t go hungry but it was the first time they ate all their dry food.
Then I almost the bowls on the counter again yesterday.

I am like a friggin zombie from lack of sleep.

Let the rains begin! It’s a frawg strangler outside! I hear ‘em croakin’!

I thought it was only me! Tis nice to find a fellow watermelon hater.

Morning all and Blurf!

Forgot to add earlier… Congratulations, Haze and Mr Haze!

I have three words for you today:

Bacon Mobius Strip

Plantage is complete. We got all of the lilies, the last hosta, a HUGE clump of sedum, some red and green ornamental grass, and some small clumps of mondo grass as well as 2 liriope… all that is now in the ground. I am showered and dressed fit to be seen in the world, **FCD **is showering now, and shortly, we will go to AT&T to get his phone plan changed.

I tried to do it on line, but it is impossible to downgrade - you can only upgrade. I tried calling, but apparently there are no human beings who answer the phone at AT&T. So we’re heading into town to deal with that, and get some critter food, and get something for FCD’s airbrush.

Looks like all the rain is passing west and north of us, so I’ll probably have to drag out the sprinkler. Dammit. :frowning:

This is not a happy day at FairyChatEstates.

West is good…

More F1 and homemade vodka for me.

I spent a fair bit of time Monday and yesterday getting the rubs and stuff ready. I do a marinade based from coffee, one something like Italian salad dressing, and another pepper based. At this time I decided to wrap a pork loin entirely in bacon.

But I dig tending the fire too. One like this with two/three shifts in the smokebox means 8-10 hours of splitting, picking, looking and burning. And maybe using the fire to bang out some silver for jewelry.
Or as my neighbors have said (“I don’t know – he got an anvil and keeps making these banging noises but I would swear I smell pork. Something with that old white boy ain’t quite right.”)

Bwhaaaa… hilarious. Always keep ‘em guessin’, right?

“At this time I decided to wrap a pork loin entirely in bacon.” I was watching Ritchie I bought my smoker from on a DSC HD show where he stuffed a skinned alligator with crawfish, shrimp, cream cheese, jalapenos, etc and wrapped it in bacon. Fittingly, when done the bacon kinda looked like some nice gator luggage.

Homemade vodka? Wow, I’m afraid trying to perfect that process would probably drive me to drinking. How many times do you filter?

Awesome. Do you do AC work too? I know a guy that’d much rather give you 30k than some big company. Plus he’d probably feed you while you’re there.
