This is the title Discourse lets me put in as a MMP

Home!! Furniture is paid for and delivery will be on Firday.

Roxy and her cousin Grayson got along pretty well, tho when the RoxStar got tired, she was less sociable. She slept most of the way home.

I just cleaned out the pellet stove, but it doesn’t seem to want to turn on. I may have to pull the plug, then replug it and see if that helps. I hope I don’t need to make a service call.

FCD is on the way home - should be here in an hour or so. MissOwl - I don’t know the name of the dealership, but they deal in exotics and high-end vehicles. He told me he got to drive a $500K Mustang and got it up to 150MPH. No mention of the Caddy, tho, so I don’t know what’s going on.

Meanwhile, Higgs wants her supper, so I guess I’ll feed her. Then chillage shall ensue.

Some internet wag said that “Getting an extra hour of 2020 is like getting extra tracks on a Yoko Ono album.” :joy:

I love this one!

Reminds me of one I saw: “2020: Written by Stephen King. Directed by Quentin Tarantino. Soundtrack by Yoko Ono.”

{{{Butters}}} I’m so sorry. How stressful and exhausting it must all be. I’m thinking of you and your hubs. If there’s anything I can do, please let me know. I’m available to talk if that would help.

Mooommm I can’t find the link to your guest bedroom. :frowning: $500K mustang!? Houses don’t cost much.

Cookie holy shi*t! I’m glad you caught it before the house was on fire. I always think the oven will contain fire, but :woman_shrugging:

3 more days of voting, then we can turn to fighting over the results. :unamused:

Tomorrow we’re having the Halloween get together with my sister and her kids. I’m looking forward to it.

We sorta kicked around the idea of giving out candy, but couldn’t figure out any good method for that, and probably wouldn’t get that many coming buy, anyway. So I’m putting a sawhorse out on the sidewalk with a sign that says “see you next year”.

Guest room pick is post 142 above.

And I goofed - it’s a $500K GT. The pic looked like a Mustang to me, but what do I know??

MissOwl, the dealership is R. E. Jahn in Wexler, if that means anything to you. He bought the car, and once we arrange for a transfer of funds from our credit union, they’ll arrange to transport it here, so he doesn’t have to drive there again. Then we have to take care of all the titling and registering here. It’s a 2014 CTS with under 30K miles - one owner who is now deceased - his son sold the car to the dealer. FCD said it’s pristine. So we’re going to have a practically new used car.

BTW, those who are my FB friends can see pics of the toddler trick-or-treat today at my mom’s. Roxy is not quite a month older than Grayson, but she’ll always be taller! He’s a little fireplug.

We’re going to do a candy hunt for the kids, then pumpkins, and decorating desserts. Not a regular Halloween, but I hope they’ll have fun.

There are no little kids in my neighborhood. It has been three years since we had a trick or treater.

Evening all. Soccer has been coached and refereed and am awaiting the first trick-or-treater of the evening (Kit-Kats and M&M’s for everybody!). Of course this means I need to be dressed appropriately to answer the door, lest parents and kids be traumatized…

Not dressed up but thinking of answering the door with a glass of Cherry Kool-Aid in my hand (if I only had Dracula fangs…).

FCM, sounds like it was a good day for FCGH (Fairy Chat Gear Head). And for you.

And as I was typing this, the first group of T&T’ers were here…about a half-dozen of them.

Nut, lemme get this straight…even with the predicted ‘second wave’ of the virus starting, the powers-that-be are saying no masks? What is wrong with these people and can you hit them over the head with a mallet (I’d be happy to do so but I’m stuck on the wrong side of the ocean…)

Nellie, I had planned to take the Empire Builder from Chicago to Seattle this year, with a stopover at Glacier Natl.’ Park. Maybe 2021 will be kinder…

Dice, thanks for the explanation. Guess I’m so used to Wal-Mart size stores that I forget about the rest of the world (I think the French have a superstore called Carrefour).

Cookie, always look at the bottom of the pan!

OK, tired out and need to do some TV watchin’. All y’all take care.

It’s in Wexford, about 25 minutes north of me. I don’t recognize the name but I looked to see where it is. There’s been a lot of development in that area over the last 10-15 years or so, including a good number of car dealerships, probably because there were lots of large parcels available. Where did he get to drive the other car up to 150 mph? If it was on Perry Highway or the nearby I-79 or the PA Turnpike, you’ll be coming up here to bail him out of jail!

Martini-ing. Did a load of laundry and napped. There is one trick or treater wandering the complex. Also, someone is shooting off fireworks.

Whoever came up with that make Gov. DeSantis of Florida look sane. Which is really frickin’ hard.

I sympathize with you on the pan cookie. I melted a nylon pancake turner in my favorite cast iron skillet by turning on the wrong burner once. I still miss it.

Groceries are bought, the laundry is mostly done (need to fold the towels), the bed remade and supper from the cheap Chinese place down the street picked up and consumed. Now for chillage.

I dunno. A referee uniform would make a pretty good costume. Give ‘em a good blast on your whistle when you open the door and yell “score!

[Heckler]I’M BLIND! I’M DEAF! I WANNA BE A REF![/Hecker]
:ice_hockey:
Sorry, reflex when I see zebra stripes.

No significance for Halloween … but heavily significant for potheads. (I work at a cannabis dispensary.)

I wore a bright blue cheap-ass flamboyant wig. It was FUN! Quick’n’easy too.

I let the pig-tailed red-headed girl make me dinner (Wendy’s) and went to bed early. Now I’m back up for my bio-break at either 1 or 2 a.m. or possibly both. I have no idea if this is the “second” 2 a.m.

But I do know it is windy out there, my goodness! Such dramatic blustering.

First snowfall (well, “wintry mix”) forecast for tomorrow. Thus begins my first Michigan winter. Everyone’s been scaring me! But I suspect it’ll be okay, and it’s only for a couple of months.

Woke stupid early the realized it was stupid earlier!! I hope I can fall back to sleep, but my brain is hyper at the moment.

Stupid brain…

Mooooomm if you ever figure out how to put a hyper brain into low gear at way-too-early-o’clock, I’m happy to learn. I’ve been waking up at 4:00 which is way too early to get up for work.

MetalMouse, just looked at the bedroom option for the Empire Builder - it looks like the shower and toilet are the same space. And I thought the bedroom option on the European night trains were small! That said, I didn’t realize it stops at Glacier National Park, so I’ll be adding this trip to our list of possible activities the next time we’re in the States.

Today is going through the great big medical folder. At this point I think we need one for me and one for my husband, rather than mixing everything. Probably should have done that earlier. Plus I think there are copies of old insurance policies, which we certainly don’t need to keep.

Still working on using up the leftovers in the fridge. Hopefully there aren’t too many science experiments in there.

Have a good Sunday!

Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up and caffeinatin’. YAWN ‘Tis 59 Amurrkin out and cloudy with a predicted high of 77 and mostly N.O.S. for the day. We shall deheathenate this mornin’. I have ush duty so will be there for both services. Sup shall be grilled poke chops, green beans, smashed N.O.T. and rolls. Not very imaginative but ‘twill provide sustenance. I foresee nappage and general sloth durin’ the afternoon.

Now I need more caffeine and rumbly tummy wants to be fed. Then purtification for deheathenization must commence.

Happy Sunday Y’all!

While teaching, yep. I can understand why the teachers don’t wear one- no point classes taking place if students can’t understand a word, and as it happens, I have small groups and I’m pretty much outside all the time, so it’s not such a problem for me. They should be adding extra precautions, or encouraging remote learning though, and that’s not happening.

I also do not understand why students are not told to mask up- there’s a list of places they’re supposed to wear one, which is basically common rooms, the bus on the way in and the canteen while not eating, but not classrooms, where they’re sitting, often all squished up together because rooms are not big enough, for hours at a time, talking.

The whole thing is a mess.

Sometimes I can turn it off by playing a few round of a mindless game on my tablet. No such luck today, which will make things interesting, added to the time change. Luckily, I don’t have a lot to do today, tho I may run to WallyWorld for critter supplies.

Something’s wonky with our pellet stove - the blower isn’t coming on when it’s first turned on - just a humming noise. So first thing in the morning, I need to call a repair guy. Dammit. Always something. At least we have a mostly full oil tank, so we have heat.

Most of the clocks have been reset - one chore accomplished anyway…

Happy Sunday!
