Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up and caffienatin’. YAWN 'Tis 73 Amurrkin out with a predicted high of 93 for the day. A nice day to be at the cee-mint pond. Alas, however, I shall be at irk.
Speakin’ of irk, I can laze a little bit before leavin’ for irk. I need to go see some of my folk in the west forty today and it’s easier to start out from da cave and head that way. First appointment is at 8:30 this mornin’. I am allowin’ for fifteen to twenty minutes at each place, with thirty minutes travel times between all the itty bitty towns I have to get to today. After the last visit I’ll be about an hour and fifteen minutes from the orifice, so not much time there today if’n indeed I head back there. I could just come back to da cave and write up all the casenotes etc I’ll need to do after all the visits. Envy my life!
Ok, I need more caffiene and rumbly tummy wants to be fed. I also need to check the cee-mint pond as I think it’s time to add some salt to the water. Then, alas and alack, irk purtification must commence.
Good morning! I had a pretty good sleep last night so I’m feeling human this morning. It’s overcast with 50-50 chance of t-storms, and it’s muggy. We’ll be going to the gym in a while, then stopping at CVS and Food Lion on our way home. The pantry is getting bare.
I need to wash the afghans and shawls that I’m taking to Mom’s on Thursday. I may also be getting a call on a job app I put in, altho I specified that I won’t be available till after my cruise. We shall see how that goes. I don’t really want to work before then, but never say never, right? It’s another drafting job.
Maybe some more studio time, too. Or not. Who knows?

PS - Butters, I don’t know if we’d make it there this year, what with my cruise and all, but we do want to camp in the Keys. We’d drive down with a divert to Ocala to leave Higgs with the in-laws. We shall see…
The cee-mint pond did not need salt. I just knew y’all would want to know this. I did however remove a big spider tht was floatin’ around, and found a daid frog in the skimmer. ICK!
It has turned out to be a very good news day over here at Fae Towers.
I spoke to the doting parent, she is home and had a much better night in her own bed. The doc phoned and said there was nothing untoward in her scans and stuff, but they need to do an ECG at some point and a six-month follow-up afterwards. The doc has to arrange that, so she will just wait for an appointment to come through the post.
I will be going to see her on Friday for the day, she has had neighbours visiting and doing her shopping so she is happy enough for me to leave it a while to visit because she also wants a rest from the social whirl!
The other good news today is that after yesterday’s appalling interview, I got offered the job! Turns out it is in the same department where I had my last temp contract so I’m happy about that because they were really nice people to work with. I don’t start until 23rd June so I have a bit of time off beforehand, I just need to wait for HR to send through my contract and sort out the finer details.
There may be some happy dancing later

Mooooom, I like the artwork too but I can see why rosie says he looks like an old sailor. The bike’s artwork is very impressive (partly because I am a completely talentless artist myself) so I vote for more art and more pics.
Time to go and sort out some lunch, I have a bad case of rumbletums.
Groceries have been purchased and put away. Among the items that mysteriously fell into my cart is a pineapple cake mix. I’m thinking pineapple upside down cake sounds like something that needs to be baked today.
The cake is in the oven. I didn’t have any vanilla pudding, so I used pistachio instead. The cake is green. The batter was good, so I think it’ll be OK. I make a dessert with pistachio pudding and pineapples (among other things) and it tastes good, so I figured this would work. We’ll find out a little later today. I vote for a potential yum!
Howdy from the library (pronounced lie-berry) in large and in charge Georgetown, Jawja. I was here for an appointment which has been completed and I have a little time to kill before I head over to large and in charge Eufala, Alabammy to procure and ingest N.O.L. Sump’n quick like MickeyD’s I’m sure. Eufala is just across the river from Georgetown and is where everybody here goes for stuff as there’s a serious lack of well, anything, in Georgetown. Eufala be the big city.
Interestin’ly enough, there’s a road I can take from Eufala back into Jawja that will cut twelve miles off travel to my next stop. It’s an Alabammy county road that becomes a Jawja back road into where I’m headed. This I have learned because of irk.
Anywho, had a few minutes to kill so I thought I’d share with y’all. Feel honored.
I always forget that my job is contractual. Today I got the email saying my contract has been renewed and I need to be looking for it so I can sign it and send it back.
I usually don’t worry about it, but I’ve been missing a lot of time lately. I let them know what is going on - well partially since no employer needs to know everything and nobody needs to know all the gory details anyway.
I’m feeling like I need to find another job anyway though, I like to have a backup plan. I think right now is the first time in my life (other than my teens) when I’ve had only one job.
Well maybe after I get the health issues taken care of and get moved out of here. Right now I have enough stress.

BooFae, if I ever opened my mouth and said everything I wanted to say I doubt a person in my family would ever talk to me again. Then again that may be a good thing.
Busy day today- interview this morning, hard to say how it went, the interviewer was crazy busy, and I barely said anything but “yes!” “OK” etc. Got in a little gardenin’, started off this year’s elderflower cham-pag-nee, the out for a dentist visit. I think it must be a record- I was done and out before the appointment was due to have started!
Teeths is fine. I only had to lie a little about how often I brush (I have no fillings, and ‘very good’ gums, so I don’t think I’m doing much wrong). Didn’t get a sticker though, being growed up sucks.
Just had time to make and scoff a cheese toastie and homegrown salad, and I’m off out to work again! Eesh, it never rains but it pours.

Walgreens is telling Jimmy now that he can’t work because he doesn’t have a license but when they hired him they told him something else. So now we’re right back to the same place we were before he graduated. He doesn’t have any income until he can take his license exam in a month. I am at my wits end. I cant talk to him because he is upset and I don’t know how to handle this latest problem right when we thought it was going to be ok.
