Howdy from da cave! Finishin’ up on some paperirk stuff then shall get dindin goin’. Matter of fact I have macaroni cookin’ for mac 'n cheese as I post. NUM!
{{{Apes}}} come in here and vent whenever you need. In the meantime hang in there. It will all get better.
For those who are full of anticipation about the pineapple-pistachio upside-down cake, it was YUM! Yes, we ate dessert first. We’ve got a vet appt at 5:30 so we won’t have supper till we get home. That’s as good an excuse as any for cake, ya think?
My phone “interview” was mainly a pre-screening with HR, talking to a person who has no idea what a drafter does. She kept asking if I had “formal training” - I guess 26 years as an engineer doesn’t show up as an option on her checklist. I’ve had a few CAD classes, but most of what I know, I learned on the job. Anyway, she’s passing my paperwork up the line. So we shall see if anything comes of it. I did find out it’s a full-time job, not a temp gig. But she didn’t know what it paid. It’s a Drafter IV job, and my last was Drafter III, so it should be more money, since it’s a gummint contract position and they specify the pay. And it’s for the Executive Helicopter program - as in The Executive who lives in DC… Which explains why she asked about my security clearance.
Dindin has been ingested. We’s both stuffded. OYKW is stayin’ over tonight, YAY! Also, thunderboomers are close by so maybe a nice storm for sleep time.
MOOOOOOM does this mean you’ve past the first hurdle for a job that may or may not be there?
It has been some day here. I rolled/fell out of my bed this morning around 6 am, hitting my right facial cheek on the edge of my bedside table. Unfortunately, I was down on the floor, from which I could not get up. I was finally able to get up with the help of my daughter and her dad, but only after several long hours of trying to get into a position that didn’t hurt too much - unfortunately, my knees are both shot and it hurts a lot to put any weight on them. I ended up having to, though, to be able to get up. I did put some ice on my face, which is still somewhat swollen; hopefully it won’t bruise up and also most hopefully nothing was broken. ::crosses fingers and knocks on wood three times::
I didn’t get online until after three pm today; last night the swamp cooler decided to crap out, so it’s HOT inside here, but comfortable enough at night and in my room I have a nice 3-speed fan that oscillates. Whew, thank goodness for that!
Still feeling a bit shaky, but I"ll be around tomorrow. Hope everyone enjoyed their Tuesday.
Oh, and FCM, I thought FCD’s painting was pretty good! Rosie, thanks for the pic of your view and Smokey enjoying it. BooFae, congrats on the job! I’m glad you’re back from vacay too, and that you had a good time.
I hope that you didn’t do any irreparable damage there, herbs.
rosie, you have a lovely view and a pretty kitteh!
Took the truck through emissions this afternoon after irk. Tomorrow is the courthouse for new tags. Poke chops, fried N.O.T. (with onions) and salad for supper. I really need some extra sleep tonight or I’ll be nodding off in what promises to be a coma inducing meeting in the morning, so it’ll be off to bed early.
Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up and well caffienated plus purtified. OYKW and I are goin’ to Pearly’s for brekkie. YUM! ‘Tis 71 Amurrkin out with a predicted high of * ONLY* 84 and rain/tstorms/apocalypse accordin’ to the weather PTB. It did rain durin’ the night and it does like there’s a band of storms on the way. Weather PTB say thunderstorms will begin at ten forty-five a.m. We shall see.
Nettie my guess would be some kind of repetitive motion at the cash register causes that. Do you stoop a little bit while standin’ at the register?
Herbs ouch! Hope you’re not too hurty today.
flytrap land sharks were not a worry. Deer, armadillos, and maybe the occasional gator are critters one could encounter along that road.
Ok, OYKW has finished purtification so we’re goin’ to Pearly’s. YAY!!!
Happy - YouTube]Hump Day Y’all! Especially to you Sean.
It’s thundering and pouring at the moment. Looks like I won’t need to put out the sprinklers today! When I let Higgs out about an hour ago, it was foggy and windy and it just felt weird outside. Obviously the weird was the impending storm. It’s looking a lot brighter to the west, so I’m guessing this band of weather will be gone soon. There are chances of storms all day. And that’s the weather. Jim?
Speaking of whom, where has Jim been? Did he cut off more fingers, thereby limiting his typing ability even further??
FCD’s bike is still at the dealer being serviced. When it’s done, we might be able to get it between showers. Otherwise, he’ll have to wait. I’m going to my mom’s tomorrow, so he wouldn’t get it back till Firday. We shall see how it plays out.
It looks to be hot and muggy, well now the sun just came out but the leaves are that shade of green that says a storm is coming.
I am - a big surprise - going to let hell pup out today. I also will be saying a final goodbye to her big sister. Big sis is 12 years old, very old for a dog of 120 pounds. She’s been losing bladder control and now she can barely get up. I’ll try not to think about it while I’m there.
I hope you feel better today Herbs.
and just this quickly the sun is gone and it’s very grey outside.
