For instance, calling myself a “passive heterosexual” was more a reference to the generally passive posting style of this particualr heterosexual (sort of a reference to the OP). Was that completely unclear?

I respectfully disagree. Some of the most prominent posters on the board are Christians. The only disrespect I have seen directed towards “Christianity” is towards those posters whose message generally conforms to the belief of how we can tolerate certain groups or points of view.
A lot of this has to do with what is meant by Christianity. I’ve occasionally been intolerate and unloving, and I recognize that as a sin against people and God. I feel Jesus message was love and caring, and that point of view has been very welcome on this board. I have never once been dissed for so sharing, and I am a lot more comfortable sharing my faith on this board than anywhere else. But I also recognize that a number of other beliefs and disbeliefs are held by folks here, and I must respect that too.
Incidentally, I have a couple of gay clients, one is an atheist and the other is the most devout and Christian man I know, he is practically a saint.
If one accepts that acts of homosexuality are sinful, and remember that Jesus said nothing of the sort (although the Old Testament did and so did Paul), that does not make the act any greater sin than “pride” in thinking that God wants you personally (and I mean this in the general sense) to do something about it in others. Christians believe that only Jesus redeems our souls through God’s perfect love. Other people making arguments don’t save souls.
Damn, I missed all the fun. I do have to say that by the time I got to the admission that SBJ was trolling, I was this close to switching teams.
Because if accepting it means we become like you, then we don’t wanna.

Religion is not like race. You have a choice after you are born if you want a religion, and which one you want. You made a decision; that is your right. However, it is also my right to question that choice. Therefore, I don’t feel guilt in talking about religion and why I don’t follow yours. You made the choice.
