This Polish Flash-Mob Video is Teh Awesome

I don’t speak a word of Polish, but nevertheless this gave me chills.

tl;dr - It’s the Warsaw case of Les Miserables doing a flash mob at a Warsaw mall to promote their show.

If anyone on the Dope speaks Polish and wouldn’t mind taking a crack at translating the lyrics, I’d be much-obliged.

I don’t speak Polish, but the song is “One Day More” from Les Miserables.

Hereis another version, with lyrics.

Oh, great-another flash mob video.
Sonofabitch-there are tears in my eyes.

At 01:57 I heard Pee Wee Herman…“I’m TRYING to use the pho-ooooone!”

Yeah, I’m familiar with the lyrics in the English version. I was just curious how the Polish translation looked against the English version I’m used to.

Eponine’s hipster glasses are giving me a fuzzy feeling in my special place.

ETA: Or Cosette’s-- not sure which is which.

Is it just me, or do a lot of the bystanders look annoyed?

The applause at the end seemed short and tepid too.

I just sent the link to my polish friend. He probably won’t post here, I’ve been trying to get him to sign up for years, but he will tell me his opinion and I will share it.

It looks like most of the performers have small microphones clipped to their coats, so that it how you can hear them so well in the video. But with singers on different floors and riding up and down escalators and running around to various places, I doubt most of the people in the mall can hear what’s going on unless someone is singing right next to them. Maybe they are hooked into the mall’s loudspeaker system, but I would bet that would produce horrible feedback or echoes.

I think the bystanders are just puzzled because they can hear (and see!) the performer(s) who is (are) nearby, but don’t get the whole performance like you can on the edited video.
I don’t think this is a classic flash mob, where the mob takes over a public space and performs for the benefit of those in the public space. I think these are paid actors staged around a mall singing for the cameras.

So, my polish friend not only says the the words are accurate, but that he knows where the flash mob happened. And he’s sad that he didn’t get to see it happen.

I usually enjoy these, but all the escalator action was distracting. Still, Polish is kinda pretty to listen to.
