OK, not going to convince you it wasn’t the AD med. Too bad an experience to risk repeating.
I keep thinking it might be a good idea to keep a disposable enema in the medicine cabinet. Like you I have a very unpleasant experience with constipation.

But its damn tasty!
Johnny - serious - try going bland for at least a couple days. If this is still going on say Wednesday, pull the cork and go see a real doctor. It could be almost anything and 99% of it is really minor; but for the other 1% you really want to catch it early.
I hadn’t taken any. But the episode convinced me not to take anything that would stop the flow.
Define ‘bland’.
(No, just kidding. Don’t define it.)
Feeling pretty normal so far today. I’m thinking a minor irritation may have been exacerbated by the high-fibre cereal and large portions of cabbage. If it were anything more than annoying, I would go see the quack.
Did he change gloves between patients?
Gloves? Since Obamacare mine just uses some Saran Wrap or a Baggie. ![]()
GoLYTELY. And if you’ve got a colonoscopy in your future, you’ll likely be tasting it again.*
Except that it will be closer to a gallon. But you’ll have all night to get through it. And since it’s not going to have to contend with a potential blockage (probably), you may not have the same sense of trepidation about downing it.
*Or possibly TriLyte. Which, if I’m reading this scrip correctly, comes with FLAVOR PACKETS.
Dear OG, please don’t let them be “other people’s vomit” flavored…
I’m a big fan of eating both yogurt and kefir when I have that sort of problem. They have different bacteria. I figure throwing lots of harmless species of bacteria into the gut lets them all flight it out, with the odds favoring one or more of the harmless ones.
When did you guys start taking these probiotics? It certainly seems like the trend-of-the-day and we are hearing things in commercials that never used to be mentioned. Is that because they have something new to sell, or they’re hyping up “symptoms”? I honestly don’t know if I’ve ever been constipated – I shit when I shit.
Have you ever had a course of antibiotics? Then you likely need probiotics. They help with constipation, diarrhea, gas, yeast infections, oral issues, and in fact your entire gut.
If you’re still having issues, maybe you need to get your gut fauna back in balance.
Isn’t it something we have in our gut?
Can’t he keep the lube in a bottle like most people?
I think part of it is up until recently, nobody talked about poop in public, especially on TV. I can’t imagine an '80s Jamie Lee Curtis talking about her bowel distress and how yogurt made her shit more/less/exactly the right amount.
I’m sure they are trendy after being pushed in ads and on daytime shows featuring doctors who promote sponsored products, but for me, they have been a lifesaver. I assure you there were symptoms.
Every time* I ate anything vegetable-related, restaurant-related, or flavor-relate, there were symptoms. I have been on Digestive Advantage for 2 years and gas X as needed for several months, and it’s much, much better.
*Now that I think about it, it all started around the time I ate the damn midnight grilled cheese from Steak n Shake…
You’re eating corned beef and cabbage that’s 10 days old? I’ll put my money on that.
