I’ve taken the laundry down - the denim jeans had to go into the dryer, but everything else was dry, so that’s good.

The quiches are in the oven - it’s smelling really yummy in here. I lurves me my quiche recipe. I use swiss instead of Monterrey jack and half-n-half in place of heavy cream, and I chop a yellow onion rather than a green onion. It’s also good with ham in place of the crab, and with mushrooms and/or spinach tossed in. It’s a very versatile recipe.

The rest of the night will mostly be chillage.

But it still has eggs, right?

I got a good start on restoring a photo album of my dad’s from the mid fifties.. I am also scrapbooking a bunch of his high school memorabilia for him for Xmas. It’s fun to get a glimpse into his teenage world.

Well this has been the day of crappy news.

Between lunch and dinner, it’s been revealed that the lump under DH’s arm is lymphoma. Don’t know what kind, grade, etc. until he sees an oncologist. Our primary doc says a lot of them are quite treatable, and the surgeon who did the biopsy aid the CT scan didn’t show any other masses, so hopefully, we’re dealing with one localized tumor.

The other news is that I apparently have a heart problem called long QT syndrome, which was the probable cause of my post-op crisis on Tuesday and some odd occasional fluttery feelings that we thought were a side effect of a new thyroid med. Long QT is in the “can cause sudden cardiac death” camp, that goes along the lines of going dizzy, fainting and slipping into ventricular fibrillation and not waking up. :eek:

**FCD **is quite sick, but I know he won’t cancel this presentation for AARP. I’ll just need to keep him away from all the old folks. And load him down with cough meds so he doesn’t spread his germs. Poor baby.

We’ll leave after lunch and head north. That’ll give me time this morning to finish this batch of tea towels and put away all my supplies. Other than that, we’ll just have to pack for overnight, including dog food and treats. It’ll mostly be a lazy day.

Woke up too early and decided to stay up. We’ll see how long that lasts.

It’s a cloudy 55 degrees outside, there is a chill in the air. I am not looking forward to winter.

I hope FCD feels better soon.

Nothing special today, just like every other day.
I think I’ll make some chicken for lunch and dinner.

My sweetie just turned off the shower. I hope the steamy bathroom helped loosen the crap in his chest. If he does decide to soldier on and head to my mom’s today, I expect I’ll be driving and he’ll be sleeping. Which is fine.

Meanwhile, I should hit the shower myself, altho there may not be any more hot water at the moment…
