Three Stooges Movie. Wow that looks terrible.

I know I said that 21 Jumpstreet surprised the hell out of me by being so good but I can’t imagine this movie is going to surprise anyone. It looks awful. The Three Stooges were probably funny to the people of that era but geez this movie looks terrible.

At least from the commercials.

I dunno, I laughed at the trailer. I like Will Sasso, though.

People were sure Jack and Jill and the Zookeeper would be complete shit, too, and look how those turned out. So stay optimistic.

Oh.

Oh.

Oh…

It’s the Farrelly Brothers, so there’s a reasonable but small chance it might turn out to be good.

I just don’t understand why they bothered.

Because of the massive popular success ofthis.

I dunno. Looks pretty funny to me. (If you like the Three Stooges style, of course.)

NASCAR has been pushing them this year, including having them do the “Gentlemen, start your engines,” yesterday. I don’t get it.

I suppose it’s easier these days to do The Three Stooges than The Four Marx Brothers.

I haven’t seen the new movie, nor any of the commercials. But I warn you. Do not dis the Stooges within my hearing. They were the gods of slapstick.

Trailer here.

It’s not like the original shorts were exactly high art. It’s going to be ninety minutes of Moe and Larry being jerks and Curly being nuts, and I’m completely OK with that.

Nonsense. There were any number of acts that were better at slapstick than The Three Stooges. Unless, of course, you think that deliberately poking your fingers into someone else’s eyes is the epitome of humor.

The brief trailer I saw had a fart joke. I don’t expect a slavish adherence to the source, but try a little guys. At least in the trailer I saw awhile ago, Sasso seems to do a pretty good job.

Who? Where can I buy collections of their work? Who is still airing their films? Unless, of course, you are defining “better” in this context to simply mean more to your personal taste.

I may be in the minority here but I enjoyed Brain Donors.

I also enjoyed Brain Doners and the main reason is that they didn’t mimic the Brothers. That was the problem with the Laurel and Hardy movie linked to above. I really am curious to see how this movie does. They seemed to have captured the Stooges very well and I’m thinking I will put my money down to see it.

Well, of course I am. Just as much as those who enjoy the Stooges do so based on their personal taste. Humor that is based on the enjoyment of sadism is not to my taste. Your mileage may vary.

It’s a FOX movie, and Nascar is on FOX right now.

Please don’t give them any more bright ideas. Just. Don’t.

I suppose Will Sasso can be funny. And im really basing this off of the one commercial ive seen and the poster. Didnt realize its a Farrelly bros movie though.
