"Throw-Back" vs Current Pepsi

The throwback Mt. Dew is ambrosia. The HFCS stuff is still drinkable, but definitely not as good.

I love throback Pepsi, haven’t been lucky enough to find the mt dew version.

I’m not a Pepsi fan regardless, but I was not impressed by my so far only drink of Throwback. Might have been just a bad bottle, but it certainly did not match my childhood memory of Pepsi (which are oddly quite strong, one of my grandmothers always had Pepsi in her house, in glass bottles, naturally).

Love the fact that my local grocery store stocks glass Mexican Coke bottles.

I can get glass bottled Pepsi around here - locally bottled and with cane sugar. Good stuff - I especially like it for certain mixed drinks, when I’m in the mood to mix.

Got a case and had heartburn the entire time I was drinking it - not sure if it was from the pop or not, but it was the one big change in my diet the whole time. Didn’t detect too much of a difference from regular Pepsi.

Here in St. Louis, a few of the Schnucks stores carry both Mt. Dew and Pepsi throwbacks.

I can’t wait for diet throwback sodas. Give me Diet Pepsi Free!

Soda in Canada is made with HFCS. It’s glucose/fructose on the labels.

Mountain Dew Throwback and Dr Pepper Heritage have the most drastic difference from their crappier HFCS versions. Pepsi Throwback was slightly better than the HFCS version but not good enough for me to buy cases of like I did with the Mountain Dew and Dr Pepper. Mexican Coke isn’t that much better either.

Mexican cokes are pretty standard around here in grocery stores. We have a large local Mexican population in my Chicago suburb, and there’s enough demand that they skyrocket off the shelves. So I was already aware of the flavor difference between HFCS and sugared soda.

Fuck HFCS. Bring on the sugah!

Gotta disagree; got a 24-pack in my house right now. I really wish they would sell it everywhere.

Maybe not just you. I tried the “natural” version of Sierra Mist…and was really underwhelmed. I like the regular kind better.
