Thundercats Mafia Gameplay Thread [Game Over]

Cough, remember to unvote.

Is Ed the best of the three candidates, or do you truly believe he might be scum? Is there somebody else you view as scummier?

What exactly causes this relative lack of town-vibe?

Because your sentence really says nothing at all. Obviously you should vote for the person you think least likely to be Town, but you really should include a reason, even if it’s just the same as someone else’s

Welp, looks like I’m going to get lynched. That’s too bad, but apparently I’m not a very good player as this happens to me all the time. I need to remember to ask people in the wrap-up thread why everyone kills when whenever I try to make a case on someone.

Anyway, for those of you voting for me, it may be worth asking yourselves: if I’m scum, what possible gain is in it for me to initiate a case on a claimed Town Vanilla when it’s 3-3-3 and I have zero votes on myself? If Ed is telling the truth, why would I bother trying to get him lynched over someone else? Unless you think both of the other two players in the tie are scum, it makes no sense for me not to target one of them instead.

I recognize that the way I lay out my cases on the player I vote for tends to ping people like crazy, so I’m not blaming anyone for lynching me, but the logic seems totally dumb to me. You’re just lynching the loud.

Aside from the fact that you could be Scum protecting Jimmy or Pleo (those were who I was tied with, correct?) You could also be Scum who needed to place a vote and so, just voted for me.

In fact, trying to get Townie Cred for placing a vote is rather strange. Are you really asking “why would a Scum vote for a player who was tied for the lead?” Scum obviously have tvo vote for someone.

So, while I maintain that if you flip Scum, it’s more likely that one or both of the people I was tied with is also Scum, it’s not certain.

I guess, basically, to answer your question of ‘why would a Scum Guraffe vote for Ed?’, I’d ask in return, ‘Why wouldn’t a Scum Giraffe vote for Ed?’

Because a scum Giraffe could have just sat quietly back with his vote on Pleonast and ridden out the Day without a bit of risk. Since I’m Town Vanilla, my survival is not as important as flushing out scum.

just as easily, yes.

And a Scum Giraffe could just as easily have changed his vote to Ed.

Whatever, Ed. I really hope you are scum, because you’ve been a disaster for Town toDay.

Anyway, I’m not trying to get Town cred – I think it’s too late to avoid the mislynch. My point is that my actions don’t make sense in the context of a scum player, just as several of yours don’t make sense in the context of a Town player. Neither of those things are conclusive: I could still be scum, you could still be Town. But you and I arguing about it is useless – the other players in the game need to look at the objective facts and logic of each situation, not just go by who “feels” scummy.

Anyway, I’m not in the mood to argue about this any more so I’m going to go drink coffee and read the paper. Enjoy your game.

A Disaster? really?

Because I made some silly posts.

Look back to the conversations we were having before I started making silly posts. We weren’t doing much scum-hunting then. I remember some analysis from Normal, and Astral’s analysis in which he ended up voting for a dead player. And more discussion of Pleo.

Aside from that, not too terribly much

fuck me running, thank you

unvote

vote special ed

Of the three, he’s the one I think most likely to be scum, but I probably wouldn’t have placed a vote on him on my own with no other votes recorded, if that makes any sense. After Mahaloth’s claim, I admit I only focused on the top candidates in my thread review, fearing that I would be short on time - that was probably a mistake on my part, and I’ll do a more thorough review for toMorrow (I’m actually tossing around some possible spreadsheet ideas to help me keep my thoughts more organized for Mafia games…).

I felt that most of the votes on Jimmy were related to his argument with Pleonast, which, while distracting, I take more as genuine annoyance with Pleo, as opposed to a scum tactic. I also feel that Giraffe’s contributions to the thread were the most pro-town. Don’t get me wrong, I agree that your nonsense did successfully prod some discussion, which is good, but your overall contribution wasn’t on the same level. (And yes, I know that sounds hypocritical coming from me, but that doesn’t make it any less true.)

If you’re at all on the fence between Giraffe and another of the candidates, maybe you should choose the other one and let it come down to random chance? Or is this a really stupid idea I’m going to regret voicing?

Also, I assume Mahaloth that you’ll be investigating either Jimmy or ed tonight?

It takes away accountability. If you leave it up to chance, then you’re not really taking responsibility for your vote.

As to Mahaloth, I wouldn’t tell him who to investigate. I belong to the camp that believes an investigator priority is to try to confirm Town players and not to find Scum. There is merit to the other side as well, especially for an outed investigator who runs the risk of having all of his confirmed Town players eliminated by Night Kills.

Also, if it did come down to a tie, Jimmy, Guraffe and I would all have a great incentive to change our votes.

Results in a moment.

Fair points.

well, assuming Giraffe isn’t our Doc, we could potentially (albeit unlikely) get two good scum lynches before Mahaloth dies if he focuses on finding scum.

A hush falls among you again as time runs out for Giraffe. He is led to the Altar of Truth, and as he lays upon it, just as you have experienced before, the shadows surrounding his form melt away, this time revealing a small red-and-yellow creature with pointed ears.

Snarfer says, “I told you I wasn’t one of the bad guys, didn’t–”

A crash and a bang and Giraffe disappears in blue light. The room is cast into total darkness.

Giraffe, Snarfer (Good team) is banished. Day 3 will begin at 11am on Monday, May 2.

poopie

I’d say more, but my work filter also blocks pages that have too many cuss words.

NETA: assuming we have a Doc…

Huh. Second unique vanilla.
