Thundercats Mafia Gameplay Thread [Game Over]

As dusk arrives, most of you are already surrounding Inner Stickler’s shade with accusatory eyes. The outcome certain, Inner Stickler allows himself to be led to the Altar with a minimum of fuss. As he is thrust down upon it and the shadows surrounding his form begin to dissipate, a wry birdy grin and narrow, yellow eyes come into view.

“Aaaaa! Aaaa! You may have gotten me, Thundercats, but in the end the Mutants will get all of you, one by one! Haaaaa! Ha-haaaaaaaaagh! Aaaaaa-”

An electric energy fills the air as Inner Stickler disappears with a crackle, and the room is cast into darkness once again.

Inner Stickler, Vultureman (Evil team), has been banished. Night Three has begun, and ends on Friday, 5/5 at 3pm CST.

Well thank God. Still a big hill to climb; hopefully Panthro is out there somewhere.

Whew.

Yeah, seriously.

Are we allowed any strategy during the Night?

Yes.

Panthro, or whatever our doctor is, protect me. Do not forget to put that order in.

Just double-checked that. Emphasis added.

All right.

FWIW a new color chart; I’ll try to pull together an “estimated vote chart” from people’s pre-pile-on votes & expressed preferences for Day 3 later.

Final votes Day 1:
glowacks: 5 (Red Skeezix, Giraffe, Astral Rejection, special ed, Normal Phase)
Tom Scud: 2 (Mahaloth, [del]Zeriel[/del]Hirka)
Astral Rejection: 1 (glowacks)
Mahaloth: 1 (fubbleskag)
[del]pedescribe[/del]Jimmy: 1 (Tom Scud)
special ed: 1 (Wolverine)
Zeriel: 1 (Pleonast)
No vote: [del]pedescribe[/del]Jimmy, [del]Sir T-Cups[/del]Inner

Votes at Ed’s claim:
Jimmy Chitwood: 3 (Mahaloth, Normal Phase, Inner Stickler)
Pleonast: 3 (Giraffe, Jimmy Chitwood, special ed)
special ed: 3 (Pleonast, Hirka T’Bawa, Tom Scud)
Not voting: fubbles, Red Skeezix, Astral Rejection

Votes at Mahaloth’s claim:

Jimmy Chitwood: 3 (Mahaloth, Normal Phase, Inner Stickler)
special ed: 3 (Pleonast, Hirka T’Bawa, Giraffe)
Mahaloth: 3 (fubbleskag, Tom Scud, Jimmy Chitwood )
Pleonast: 1 (special ed)
Giraffe: 1 (Astral Rejection)
Not voting: Red Skeezix

Final vote Day 2:
Giraffe: 5 (Astral Rejection, Jimmy Chitwood, Tom Scud, special ed, Red Skeezix)
special ed: 4 (Pleonast, Hirka T’Bawa, Giraffe, fubbleskag)
Jimmy Chitwood: 3 (Mahaloth, Normal Phase, Inner Stickler)

What is green on your chart, Tom?

Blue is for-absolute-sure Town, green is investigated/claimed-with-evidence. I think I didn’t get it completely consistent but anyway.

Non-Stickler votes or preferences, Day 3:

Red Skeezix: 2 (Hirka T’Bawa, Normal Phase)
special ed: 2 (Pleonast, Mahaloth)
Hirka: 2 Tom Scud, Red Skeezix
Only voted Stickler: Ed, Astral
No vote: Jimmy, Inner.

I’ve sent Jimmy his non-participation prod, so hopefully he will return to the game soon.

No i really don’t think they’re lying. Is it possible, yes. Is it likely, no. You’re reading too much into “for now”. I mostly put that paragraph in there because I had previously left off with being suspicious of Astral, and didn’t want to leave it dangling out there unresolved.

(snip player list)

“Not strictly accurate”? That’s a political way to say that. How about false, incorrect, inaccurate, untrue?

How do you define trumped up? I define it as “trumped-up(a): concocted with intent to deceive”. He’s created a bit of hyperbole to make what I actually did sound worse than it was.

If he had said his objection was “that i voted late on the vote leader without explanation” that would be a horse of a different color. Instead he said “I feel red skeezix is acing scummy by voting for the vote leader, with no explination why, and waiting to the last seconds.” Sorry, but that’s not what I did. Saying I did something that I didn’t do and then voting for that pretend reason, it’s scummy.

Quickie review of Inner, and all I get is that it makes me think Jimmy is more likely to be Town & less likely to be the Godfather; Inner’s vote pushed Jimmy to 3-2 up in the voting. Ed’s vote on Pleo and my & Hirka’s votes on Ed both came later.

So. IF Jimmy is Town AND there is a four-person Scum team, that means that three of Ed, Pleo, Normal, Red, and Hirka are Scum.

I don’t think Ed and Pleo are both Scum; Pleo’s attempts to get Ed lynched don’t strike me as bus-like. Though with Pleo, you never know.
I think it’s unlikely that Normal and Red are both Scum, unless Hirka and Red are both scum; Normal did her best to drive the lynch towards Red when Maha and I had agreed to resort to Lynch the Lurker.
If Normal is Scum I’m pretty sure Hirka is as well. (but not necessarily vice versa).
I also don’t think Hirka and Red are likely to both be Scum; partially because I don’t think ALL the lurkers were Scum, and partially because I don’t know that Hirka would bus Red right at the outset at Lynch or Lose.

So, three-person scum teams that strike me as probable:
Normal, Hirka, Pleo
Normal, Hirka, Ed
Red, Pleo, Ed (less so)

I think I’d be down with a Normal lynch tomorrow; basically IF there is a four-player Scum team, Normal is very likely to be on it; if we turn out to be wrong, it’s likely that we will have another day to try again.

Of course, if Panthro is in the game and Maha pulls a scum out of his investigation, all bets are off.

Actually re-thinking, we should probably kill Hirka (based on the “if Normal is Scum, Hirka is Scum” thinking); that would protect us from a possible Lurker All-Stars team.

Potential holes in the logic above:

1 - Pleonast totally WAS bussing Ed.
2 - Normal was trying to bus Red and/or realized Maha had made his mind up.

And of course,

  1. Jimmy is the Godfather after all; Inner was willing to try to drive a bandwagon over him anyway for Town cred.

If I wasn’t as accurate as I should have been on my vote for you, then I’m sorry. I was typing on my phone, while driving (well, I was a passenger) with my memory of the previous day’s vote, after a crazy (but fun!) weekend out of town. However, I don’t believe my comments were “untrue”, maybe exaggerated a little, but that was out of a desire to get my thoughts across in as few words as possible, not a desire to mislead. To set the record straight, here is the final parts of day 2’s votes (All times Eastern, based off my timestamp, YTMV):

4/29 @ 10:19pm #305: Fluiddruid posts the votes after people unvoted due to Mahaloth’s claim. Giraffe, Jimmy, and Ed all tied at 3.

4/30 @ 1:01am #309: Special Ed votes for Giraffe, bringing him to lead, with count of 4.

4/30 @ 8:12am #314: fubbleskag votes no-banish before leaving to shop

4/30 @ 9:28am #317: You:

4/30 @10:38am #320: fubbleskag tries voting for Ed, forgot to unvote, proper vote cast 11:21am.

4/30 @12:01am #335: Dusk falls - Fluiddruid posts final vote count.

So, what’s my point? You were the last to vote for the vote leader, with no explanation, with Two hours, 3 minutes before dusk. If, as you said is true:

Then taking my MINOR exaggeration and trying to make a mole hill out of it must be super-scummy.

I stand behind my vote.

I see your reasoning for not thinking Normal and Red are both scum, but is there a particular reason you don’t think the scum could be Normal, Pleo, and Ed?

Oh, and forgive my ignorance, but in:

What does “bus” mean? I assume by usage you mean vote for, but can you explain the actual term, and what it means? (sorry, first game, still trying to learn).
