Thundercats Mafia Gameplay Thread [Game Over]

I’ll wait for you.

I’d hate for Pleo and myself to both be Town.

PS, it’s always best to go to the gay bars with your best lesbian friends

I’m back.

I investigated Hirka last night.

Hirka is trustworthy.

Town:

**Mahaloth
Jimmy Chitwood
Hirka
**

Everyone else:

Pleonast
Normal Phase
special ed
Red Skeezix
So, it’s a four way crap shoot. I’m not sure who to kill yet. I’m thinking about it.

Given that we have 2 investigations and 4 unknowns (at least from the general perspective).

I was thinking about a mass claim, but that would likely only expose pantrho. Which would be enlightening if they are amongst the unconfirmed but harmful if they are in the investigated.

So, i’m going with my suspicions based on the fubbleskag kill. I think that makes sense for a scum kill that night if Special Ed is scum.

vote Special Ed

Well fubbleskag was the martyr, so he died because they were targeting Mahaloth. They didn’t target fubbleskag directly.

Vote Ed

I forgot that we had one of those. How do you know they were targeting Mahaloth?

I don’t know 100%, but it would be very odd if right after Mahaloth claimed, they avoided night killing him, and just happen to target the martyr by chance.

BTW, since Ed seems to be the way the wind is blowing, and I do think he might be scum…

unvote Red Skeezix

Vote Special Ed

Again, though, 1. there was no indication in the text that any protection was going on, and you might expect there to be; 2. we have a full-protector character in Panthro who you’d’ve expected to have been protecting Mahaloth after the events of that Day, and who would have prevented fubbleskag from having to use the martyr power if he/she had been doing so, and 3. you’d think the scum would have known item 2 anyway, even if Panthro was doing something else, and they would have been pretty wise to target elsewhere, hoping for one of the other power roles which would have necessarily been unprotected.

Not that I think we can tell that much from the choice of night kill either way (since the scum are just as capable as we are of determining who any given death would implicate), but it seems to me that it’s more likely than not that fubbleskag was killed directly and it just paid off a bit extra.

I don’t know, if I was scum, (though, I’m not), I would think that as soon as the investigator was claimed, that would be the first target. Why if someone claimed as investigator would he not die the next night? The only reason I can suspect is that the claimer was protected even by a martyr (which seems to be), or he was scum thinking there wasn’t an investigator in the game. I really doubt he is scum, since his claims have been positive so far. He claimed Tom was town, he was a mason and died… He claimed you were town (which of course I assume, but you never know…), and of course he claimed me. Of which I know 100% I’m town… And since I’m new, I’ve never played before, so I don’t think I would know how to play scum even if I was selected as Mam-Ra…

So, why wouldn’t they try killing him when he claims? I’m really doubting we have a panthro.

So, I’m willing to bet there is no panthro, and we only have 2 scum left (with the one killed)… And honestly, I think this is pretty obvious, and you’re defense otherwise makes me think you might be the godfather…

Because scum can ill afford not killing during the night. (A missed kill counts as an extra .5 mislynch for town) Shooting at the person most likely to be protected is playing a big risk.

Plus, considering that there’s a second killer (possibly a one time scum kill, that’s what i’m thinking atm, but I need to reread the rules because I don’t remember if one was listed as a role possibility, although I can’t see why a town vig would shoot at a claimed mason) means it’s more likely that there is a panthro in the game.

I thought Tom and Astral were lovers/siblings. I see no extra kill.

Unless I am missing something, I assume I have been protected. I receive no PM about protection or anything, but I figure scum are avoiding me because they have not yet hit the doctor.

special ed - 4 (Pleonast, Red Skeezix, Mahaloth, Hirka T’Bawa)

Votes are final when Day Four ends on Tuesday, May 10 at 11am CST.

  1. Pleonast - special ed (458)
  2. Hirka T’Bawa - [del]Red Skeezix[/del] (459/468); special ed (468)
  3. Mahaloth - special ed (466)
  4. Normal Phase
  5. special ed
  6. Red Skeezix - special ed (464)
  7. Jimmy Chitwood

Normal Phase, special ed, Jimmy Chitwood, why have you not voted?

Mostly because I didn’t know the Day was over so soon. I’m fully on board with the ed lynch, though. I asked everyone two days ago what the scum motivation for the way ed was acting might have been. I couldn’t think of one at the time. I’m still not entirely sure, but it occurred to me that rather than fishing to be nightkilled, what he could very easily have been doing was fishing for an investigation. Which would make pretty good sense if he were the godfather. So it isn’t really true that there’s no reason he would have put himself out there. And it’s definitely true that his votes have left a great deal to be desired.

At any rate, I trust Mahaloth and Pleonast and mildly Hirka, if not Red, really. So I’m in.

vote special ed

Vote: Normal Phase

mostly because it ain’t me

If I had to guess on a godfather, it would be Hirka at this point because of what seems to be weak PIS that Mahaloth was targeted.

Of course, Red is tricky smart, and Pleo has been after me for the entire game.

But my play has been poor, and I’ve been marginally paying attention, so I’ll hope we aren’t at lynch or lose.

Colorized final votes.

Day One
glowacks: 5 (Red Skeezix, Giraffe, Astral Rejection, special ed, Normal Phase)
Tom Scud: 2 (Mahaloth, Hirka T’Bawa)
Astral Rejection: 1 (glowacks)
Mahaloth: 1 (fubbleskag)
Jimmy Chitwood: 1 (Tom Scud)
special ed: 1 (Wolverine)
Hirka T’Bawa: 1 (Pleonast)

Day Two
Giraffe: 5 (Astral Rejection, Jimmy Chitwood, Tom Scud, special ed, Red Skeezix)
special ed: 3 (Pleonast, Hirka T’Bawa, Giraffe, fubbleskag)
Jimmy Chitwood: 3 (Mahaloth, Normal Phase, Inner Stickler)

Day Three
Inner Stickler: 8 (Mahaloth, Tom Scud, Astral Rejection, special ed, Hirka T’Bawa, Red Skeezix, Normal Phase, Pleonast)

Known town
“Confirmed” town (could be godfather, or could be scum under extremely limited circumstances)
Known scum
Unknown alignment

One could do this with the complete voting record, but since only the final votes actually determine who is lynched (plus it’s much less work), I think the final votes are the ones that should be looked at carefully.

Unfortunately, the vote record is very sparse. I can’t say any conclusion can really be draw from the votes themselves, rather than the reasons players have been putting behind them.

The only noticeable thing to me is that Red and ed are unknown alignment and on both of the Day One and Two lynches. Also, I’m not looking forward to trying to figure out who the godfather is.

We should almost just end the Day early if this is all anyone has to say. Quiet game, but only a few of us anyway.

Either way, I guess.

In order of percieved Scumminess:

  1. Normal Phase - never ever trust her
  2. Pleonast - Has persued me relentlessly.
  3. Red Skeezix - can be tricksy, vote record is as awful as mine
  4. Hirka T’Bawa - The surety that Mahaloth was targeted has me leaning Scum
  5. Jimmy Chitwood - Investigated Town, but there is likely a godfather
  6. Mahaloth - If he’s Scum, then well played, sir. Ballsy move that paid off when under lynch pressure
  7. special ed

What if our protector claimed now? and protected Mahaloth one last Time.

If the game continues after I'm lynched, there's but 2 Scum left.

1. If the protector is Red, Pleo, or Normal:
The Scum could kill the protector, Mahaloth would get 1 more investigation. He'd be able to have himself, Jimmy, Hirka as 'confirmed' plus one of the remaining 3 identified as either Scum or Town. lynch the one that is Scum or isn't Town.

The next Night, the Scum could kill Mahaloth, I suppose, despite the fact that he's investigated everyone still alive. In any case, it would go down to lynch or lose with a bunch of 'confirmed' players

2. If the protector is Jimmy or Hirka:
The Scum can kill them, and Mahaloth can either find a Scum or confirm one of the 3 out of Red, Pleo, and Normal. This gets a little more tricky. If he confirms a Town, then you'll have to guess out of the other 2 and hope to take the game to lynch or lose

What are everyone's thoughts on this?
