The Republican decided to run a no name woman against long time Washington state Senator Patty Murray. With the election less than a month away, we in the state are being bombarded with commercial by this nobody blaming Patty Murray and Joe Biden for every thing from from small business failures to anal itching. Now she is claiming Biden and Murray are going to hire 87,000 new IRS agents to come after the middle class. Bold fucking lies. The desperation in her commercial is sickening. I will be so glad when this Trump ass kisser is gone.
Huh! Arizona has a candidate with the same sounding commercial. IRS agents targeting YOU!
So, not only are the repubs liars, they’re unoriginal liars. Recycling ads…hmm. Sounds kinda green of them.
Didn’t she also say they’d be ARMED ?
(I watch very little live television and skip past the recorded ads, but I believe I did see this claim.)
Was you being facetious? Did she really blame them for anal itching? Nothing would surprise me.
Gah, I’m so sick of her ads. At least Culp didn’t make it to the top two. Bonus: Culp and the others split the republican ticket so bad in my district I’ll get to vote for a democrat instead of against the craziest republican on the ballot.
Spare a fuck you for Dan Newhouse blaming Biden for not doing Congress’s job for them. What I wouldn’t give for decent options in my area, instead of these morons.
Is it Tiffany Smelly whose commercials imply that baristas make $400,000 per year? My wife (who is fairly conservative) rolls her eyes at that one every time.
A medical doctor running for governor in MN claims that there are kids in schools who identify as cats and are provided litter boxes. Seriously.
As am I. And she’s terrible in them, she sounds like she’s reading from cue cards and isn’t much of a reader.
Also not fans of Smiley; Starbucks, the Seattle Times, and the Seahawks, whose trademarks she’s been using in her ads without their permission.
This also features heavily in Ted Budd ads against Cheri Beasley. Get so many of those I’ve had to start telling YouTube they are “repetitive” and hope that will have an effect on what they show me. I’m not even allowed to vote, gdammit!
I’m on the Eastside, and thankfully have never even heard of Tiffany Smiley. Nonetheless, rest assured, wingnut isn’t getting my vote.
Here is southern Oregon the locals bought into that horseshit hook, line, and sinker – to the point that people, middle-aged adults no less, were posting threats on social media that they were going to go into the local high school and start beating up any “furries” they saw. The local newspaper ran a front-page story detailing the whole mess, including an interview with the superintendent wherein he had to explain how schools actually functioned.
If Facebook comments are to be believed a large percentage of the population still believes this shit is actually happening.
Worse than Smiley’s ads are the ads that identify her as a lying sack of shit. What is wrong with these people? Give her even higher name recognition, come on.
I wonder if she got a lot of support from the D side: back about ~26 years ago, the R candidate for governor was a christian nutbag named Ellen Craswell, whom my cousin said he crossed over and voted for in the primary in order to give the D (Gary Locke?) a downhill run to Olympia.
Sometimes I think it would be nice if you could buy a ten-second spot and arrange to have it played immediately after every one of these dipshits’ ads…
…followed by “I’m insert candidate I approve this message!”
We’ve got a loon running for secretary of state who equates abortion with child sacrifice and is “satanic” She also believes that demon possession can be passed through sex. Seriously, some of the most idiotic crap is coming out of the Republican party. How can these races even be close?
Herschel Walker has obivously taken too many hits to the head. I can’t believe that a cognitively impaired, hypocritical, lying, immoral asshole, could touch Raphael Warnock with a 50 foot pole, but nooo the race is close.
eta: I forgot woman beating asshole among the “redeemed” Mr. Walker’s accomplishments.
I’m not either, as I am Canadian and neither resident in the state of Washington nor the United States. But I get the Patty Murray and Tiffany Smiley ads on the American channels my cable package includes, since my cable company gets them from Spokane, WA. So I’m familiar (well, as familiar as one can be just watching TV ads) with the race.
I can agree with the above posts about this race. Patty Murray touts successes over the past term, mentions her experience, and says she will keep working hard for the people of Washington. Tiffany Smiley, on the other hand–whoa! Her message is basically, “Your life sucks, and it’s going to suck harder because of Joe Biden.” No mention is made of what she will work towards, policies she supports or will help to implement if elected; it’s just “We’re all doomed if you don’t vote Republican!”
I saw one earlier tonight for Smiley. Apparently, Biden is hiring 87,000 IRS agents to “make you pay for somebody else’s law school.” What the hell is that all about?
Wasn’t that in a horror/SF film recently [i.e. the past 6 or 7 years] It sounds really familliar. There was also a Denzel Washington flick where the demon got passed through physical contact.
Yeesh, can’t they come up with new shit to be scared of?
I have no idea. Maybe that’s where she got the notion. Ugh! I just can’t believe these ‘people’. I’m reading about Oz right now. I’m about to get my torch and pitchfork.
Much of the whack morons seem to get their ideas from books and movies - I swear I keep seeing these doolally ideas and remembering them from fiction [frequently horror movies or novels]
I know that in the US, many ‘born again Christian’ churches use study texts instead of actually cracking a bible, and they listen to their preacher foaming at the mouth over something. Back in 1972-74 the church my parents went to had a major scism that lasted for several years over some inoccuous crap in one if the ‘classes’. See, many churches have the regular Sunday morning service, and occasionally one on say, Saturday for those who work and can’t attend the regular one. They also have ‘study groups’ that are targeted like Men 18-25, or Single Women 18-30. He said something about miracles. Can’t remember as a pre-teen it was quite above my head. He claimed miracles happened in the past, but not now, or miracles happened in the past and happen now, or some such blather. Immediately the church split into the first category, the second category or who gives a shite - get on with things. It got so bad they fired the poor guy [who really was likeable, and had a good hand with teaching children as his wife and he co-taught Vacation Bible School and she ran the childrens programs] It took them 4 years of interviewing and 6 month contracts to find a new guy who was so inoccuous and bland he couldn’t offend anybody. If he had stuck to teaching exactly what was in the bible, instead of trying to discuss current events, he probably would still be there. [they had to replace the preacher that had been there for something like 60 years.]
Haha, wow, I haven’t heard of that name or thought of her in a long, long time.
My home town is Bremerton, she’s from nearby Silverdale and lived in Poulsbo (all in Kitsap County). I actually knew people related to her when I was young. She was a local. I just recall a lot of people loathing her. Not even for politics, she was just an awful person.
I even have vague recollections of having met her once, I think, but it was so long ago I can’t be sure.
