Tiger Woods and that hotel in Dubai...

I’ve been sent pictures by a few people of “Tiger Woods” hitting golf balls off a helipad in a crazy hotel in Dubai.

They don’t zoom in and show his face, and I was suprised by his choice of footware. I’m wondering if the pictures are real (well if it is infact Tiger).

Here is link to a news article .

How credible is Ananova?

Thanks

Seems credible to me. Well, except for…

The seven-star hotel is higher than the Eiffel Tower and is built on a man-made island.

:dubious:

7 stars? Why not? Who the heck gives out stars anyway? But the hotel IS about 963 feet tall and DOES stand on a man-made island. It’s world-famous and there are many many websites where its stats can be found.

By the way, do not confuse this Dubai Hotel with my favorite place in town:

The Hollywood 7 Star Motel

warning: Do not stay here unless you plan to meet up with some transvestite crack whores. Not that there’s anything wrong with that.

This hotel went around in a .pps email a few months ago.

I googled the place up and it’s for real. Summer seems to be a slow time for them so they were running a special of only $619 a night.

Thats the Burj Al Arab. As you can see, the helipad is visible in the pic. The story sounds real.

The same picture on the PGA Europe site, with a proper credit to Getty Images.

If you “click here to zoom”, you can REALLY zoom in. You still can’t see his face, but he’s clearly wearing white Nike’s.

Sports Illustrated ran that photo in their “Leading Off” section a few months back. He was in Dubai for a tournament, which he got paid mucho dinero for the bother of showing up.

Here’s the wrapup story: http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/4472309/

The match his softwear. :stuck_out_tongue:

They’re Nikes. Doesn’t he have a contract with them?

He does have a contract with Nike, but he usually wears more conservative golf shoes, not flashy sporty kinds.

But it sounds like it is legit.
