Dinsdale: Agree 100%. I was never a Tiger basher when he was in his prime. I didn’t like the way the press focussed 99.9% of their attention on him, but that wasn’t his fault. I hate to have to say it, but his golf career is over, and the sooner he admits that, the better. His #1, #2, and #3 goals was to win majors. Of course he wanted to win every tournament he played in, but nothing was as important as winning majors. At this point, his age alone is a huge impediment to do that, not to mention his injuries and general lack of having played much. Bow out gracefully, and move on to the next chapter of your life. He’s already started to do that, to some extent, by working on course design. It might not be as exciting or glamorous as winning The Masters, but time marches on.
Tiger changed the game of golf, and he’s a large part of the reason we have so many good, young players today. No one can take that away from him. He’s just not going to beat Jack when it comes majors. Sorry, but between living a crazy lifestyle and keeping up that body-punishing swing for as long as he did, he is largely the reason why. Some of it might be just bad luck, but not all of it.
