Time to go home... dark out, ain't it?

It’s 5:13, and I’m fixing to go home – which means, in these here parts (Boston), and this here era (post-daylight savings time), it’s pitch black out. I’m lanternless, flashlightless, forlorn. Thank God for the mounds of Halloween candy dispersed around the office. Without that, this time of year would be just too much to bear.

I’m torn about this time of year. I do so hate the feeling that the day is over before I leave work, but I also like having sunlight to wake me in the morning.

I don’t mind leaving when it’s dark out since I tend to be working late anyways. I do find it very difficult to wake up when it’s still dark outside.

Case in point, I went to sleep last night at 2:30 and had no problem being up at 7:00 because it was light outside.

Not quite dark here in Flawdah at 5:25. It will be by the time I get home. I hate DST. :stuck_out_tongue:

I am not amused. Oh well…

Despite not being a morning person, my flextime runs from 7 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Which means I’m seeing way too much of the dawn’s early light, and from the wrong end, at that. At least there’s still some light to go home by.
