to anyone who is interested.... [RIP Polycarp]

:frowning:

I believe I met both of you back in 2000 at a Dope get together in Raleigh. I’m just now noticing this thread, but wanted to tell you how very sorry I am to hear this.

I am rarely on the SDMB but I did log on today and saw this.

I am so very sorry for you and your family in your loss.

He was one of the good ones.

Prayers for peace that passes all understanding for you all.

Kristin

I’m just now seeing this too. I’m so very, very sorry. Poly was one of the finest examples of Christian principles I’ve ever seen. He was always compassionate, loving and supportive. May God bless his soul and keep him. And may peace be to those close to him, derived from just how much he touched everyone he came into contact with.

I had missed this before now. Such sad news. My condolences.

I just heard the sad news. Polycarp and I were around way back when, and always had some great and thought-provoking conversations here. I will remember him fondly.

I just got the news as well. My condolences to his family. I really liked him.

Mrs. Carp, you’re probably not even watching this thread 18 months later, but just in case–

I was thinking of Polycarp this week, and wanted to send him a message to let him know that he was one of the first Christians I ever met who met gay people with love rather than homophobia. At the time, well, I disagreed with him. Years later, I’m an out bisexual woman married to a lesbian, and the fact that I am happy with who I am is in part due to people like Polycarp. I wanted to thank him. I’m so sorry to find out that he’s passed away and I can’t do that.

So if you do get this message–thank you for sharing him with us all those years ago.
