to anyone who is interested.... [RIP Polycarp]

This is very sad news. I’ve always respected his elegantly written thoughts on faith.

So sorry for your loss my prayers are with you. Polycarp was always one of my favorites here he will be missed.

Nothing mundane or pointless about this. Hadn’t read anything by Poly in a long time and I did a search. Damn it.

My sincerest condolences. So sad.

Oh, man, so sorry to hear about Polycarp. When I first joined the boards, he was one of the first posters whose screen name became familiar to me.

He will definitely be missed. I’m sorry for your loss.

I’m so sorry to hear this … but know he’s experiencing joy unspeakable now.

Please check your PMs!

I have been offline for a while, and just discovered this thread. I remember Polycarp well, and will miss him greatly. My condolences on your loss.

I, too, am not on the boards as regularly as I used to be and am just finding this now.

Back in the day, I would often get involved in quite a few heated debates around here, often centered around religion. I always found Polycarp to be a well-reasoned gentleman in times when others would have resorted to ugliness and petty bickering. I always valued his knowledge and even temperment on these boards.

I will miss him.

I just now saw this. My condolences. :frowning:

Yet another person not around here much nowadays, but I couldn’t help but fondly recall Polycarp’s wise, reasoned posts. My condolences.

I’m so sorry for you loss. He’ll be missed here.

Just saw this. My condolences.

RIP, Polycarp. :frowning:

I’m very sorry to hear this. My condolences.

Agh! I always miss these things. And I’ll miss Polycarp more. :frowning:

My words exactly.

I am also just reading this and have no words to fully express my sympathy to you and your family.

I don’t know if hearing such sad news so late is good or bad. My condolences.

Polycarp was the closest thing to a friend that I made through the SDMB. He kept in contact with me after I entered seminary and continued to engage in intelligent dialogue, gently challenging me to keep thinking. He always seemed so intelligent, yet no one was beneath him – not even a punk kid on a message board. You and your family are in my prayers, Mrs. Carp.
