to anyone who is interested.... [RIP Polycarp]

Thank you for updating. I’m sorry for your loss. We enjoyed Polycarp’s posting and interaction.

I think I speak for many of us when I say my reaction when I saw this thread was, “What? Not Polycarp!” He was a great poster, and he will indeed be missed.

My condolences to his family and friends for their (and our) loss.

Horrible news, he was a very well-liked poster here and I appreciated his posts and wisdom. he’ll be greatly missed.
I’m very sorry for your loss.

I am very sorry for your loss and my thoughts are with your family. I always admired Polycarp and respected him very much; even though our opinions greatly differed a lot of the time, he was never anything but kind and enjoyable to deal with.

My condolences. His voice will be missed.

Sad to hear. :frowning:

Looks like this was Poly’s last post. It’s in the Heinlein thread in Cafe Society.

I’m so sorry for your loss, and for all of our loss. He will be missed.

I’m very sorry to hear this. He was a really good guy.

Very sad news. My condolences to all who knew and loved him – given how beloved and respected he was around here, that must be a substantial number of people.

I am sorry for your loss. I will miss my friend David.

A wonderful person and a true board citizen. I had great respect for him. The loss is deeply felt.

Oh no, no Poly! He was one of my favorite posters. So sorry, my condolences.

I am very sorry for your loss and will miss Polycarp very much. I always very much respected and appreciated Poly’s contribution here.

Sorry to hear that. My condolences to you and yours.

Truly regretful to read this news. Our board is poorer for the loss of his voice. My heartfelt sympathies go out to those who love him.

Oh, I am so sorry for your loss and wish the family peace in this time. Our virtual community’s self-described “saint of many fish” was greatly appreciated; I shall miss his contributions.

Dona eis, Domine, requiem aeternam, et lux perpetua luceat eis

My condolences.
Polycarp and I joined the SDMB around the same time and I remember appreciating much of what he had to say.

I’m so sorry for your loss, Mrs. Carp. Your husband was a fine, intelligent, compassionate man. The SDMB is less for his loss.

Please accept my heartfelt condolences, Mrs Poly, for you and your family.

Polycarp was a wonderful man and a truly gentle poster who always expressed his thoughts clearly, sometimes with passion, often with humour, occasionally with righteous outrage, but always with compassion.

I’ve noticed that his posting had dropped off recently and missed him greatly.
