So I’m cleaning my bathroom and bedroom this morning and I go to take some stuff out to the trashcans when I am assaulted by a white dog. A big white dog, my guess a Great Pyrenees/Golden retriever mix. It’s got the height and build and white coat of a Pyra with the goofy face of a Golden.
It seems like a friendly dog and it has a collar, so it must belong (or did belong) to someone. I don’t have the time nor the inclination to try and drag this dog all over the place looking for an owner. Nor am I willing to keep the dog in my yard while I put out flyers or what not. So…I did the next best thing. I called the SPCA who are coming in an hour or so (from what the operator told me) to pick the dog up. I’ve managed to corral the dog in my backyard for now and we’ll see what happens. The dog was perfectly friendly and even licked me but I have no time, no money for a dog now. Especially not one that big and hairy. I hope the owner (if he or she has one…I didn’t check the sex of the dog…too much hair)decides they want the dog and goes looking for it. If not…it’s a very sweet dog and I’m sure he/she will find a home soon enough.
I’ve been going out to check on it every few minutes to make sure it hasn’t jumped the fence or dug under it, which it seems to be trying to do at the moment. The SPCA should be here really soon, I hope.
