I post in lots of forums. I ask and answer questions in General Questions. I debate and witness in Great Debates. I comment on entertainment aesthetics in Cafe Society. I conduct and participate in polls in Humble Opinions. And in the Pit, I often rant and lash out. So, my question is, why the interest in me in particular? You haven’t said a word, for example, about Klaatu’s early hijack and shit-slinging in this thread before I even arrived. I don’t even participate in most Pit threads.
More revisionism. As the debate wound down, I mentioned in passing that it made no difference to me anyway because of the likelihood my illnesses would consume me in a couple years’ time. My poor health was already well known — hence the “Lib is off his meds” cajoling (which, incidentally, you’ve never condemned.) The usual suspects ran with that ball, and made a big deal out of it. I said then and reiterate now that I want no pity. It’s just atoms, and atoms aren’t real.
Yes, after my e-mails went unanswered for nearly a week. But I was not banned, and left voluntarily for six months or so.
Frankly, you’ve become more annoying than PRR, at least to me personally. You seem to have a fixation on me and my affairs that is downright creepy. You never asked me why, and then didn’t read or comprehend when I explained. At this point, I really don’t care what you think about it. I didn’t make this thread about me. In fact, you started a thread about me that I didn’t make about me. I’m a prolific poster, and most of the threads (including Pit threads) don’t become about me.
The statistics and facts say you’re wrong. That thread was all about you and Bryan Eckers. Look at the posting stats. (Click the post count.) Your and his posts outnumbered me nearly two to one. That thread was about PRR. I was communicating with PRR. We reached an agreement and an understanding. I’m curious as to how you rationalize accusing me of thread shitting when what you did in that thread — posting to interfere in our free volition — was itself thread shitting, wasn’t it?

On Preview: olivesmarch4th, cool, I knew I liked you for some reason. I am another knee-jerk mediator. I normally try for the “can’t we all get along idea”. I was defending PRR as I saw his positive points. I have done the same for other posters that friends can’t stand. I tried to stop the buy out as it disturbed me and I thought it would cost me two posters that I enjoyed reading. I think I was correct.

In my personal opinion, although you have some positive qualities, I believe that overall you have had a negative effect on the board. If it were up to me, I would have banned you long ago for your disruptive tendencies. (Actually, I think that would have been better both for you and the board.) I was greatly disappointed to see you come back after your self-imposed exile. It was like seeing an alcoholic who has promised to stay on the wagon come striding back into a bar and start hoisting a few.

All I can say is that so far, yes, in my noobie time here, I’ve observed several of these ‘discussions’ and the people thinking they made points against him did not, in my estimation.

So? I’ve seen that on other boards where posters feel they are having difficulty staying away and have asked to be banned. I’ve considered it, myself. These stupid forums are too danged interesting. Still not a capital offense. Your case, sir, is sorely lacking in hard evidence.
