To: The NYC mob of "planned civil disobedience" FUCK YOU

So tell me: are you against the American government, or the people? Seeing as how it’s the people that you insist on obstructing and interfering with, I’d have to say it’s them. Unless you’re camping on the doorstep of the Capitol, I’m pretty sure those who are actually running the war that you are allegedly all worked up about probably don’t give a rat’s ass what you have to say about it.

Since your primary target for “protest” is the common citizen (that is, the person most likely to be affected), why are you surprised that the common citizen thinks you’re a Grade A schmuck when you pull your little stunts?

It should go. Police NOT stopping traffic for people who are breaking the law by laying down in public thoroughfares would end this bullshit pretty quick, I think.

Aside from the violent “non-violent” protesters, I think it’s wonderful that the countries in the middle east that we’re dealing with and trying to “liberate” can be an audience to the freedom available in our society that allows a non-violent protest to take place without violent repurcussion.

Gotta agree with Munch. Much as I think these folks are morons who are doing their own (stated) agenda a disservice by their actions, I don’t advocate being violent with them.

Pick 'em up, throw 'em in the paddy wagon on off to the slammer with 'em (or at least the holding tank until they’re charged), but I agree that our ability to NOT whack 'em in the head or shoot rubber bullets at 'em is part of what defines us as a society.

Shhhhh, stop making so much sense, you’re liable to make their heads explode.

I totally support your right to peaceful protest. But, these traffic blocking tactics are like a baby throwing a temper tantrum. All they need are giant diapers.

I hope some mom, while rushing her child to the emergency room, makes modern art out of these brainwashed “protesters.”

If we really do end up finding tons of WMDs, will all the protesters promise to send a personal letter of apology to all the peoples lives that they made very difficult by being wrong?

Missy2U – O’Reilly is usually pretty good about not passing along stuff without substantiation. But if it was last night, he obviously wasn’t talking about anything happening in NYC today, which was what I thought I read.

It is really ridiculous when to see photos of folks with “End Violence” or whatever on their placard hauling off and belting somebody.

FWIW, I am generally a peaceful and non-violent person. After 9/11 I would have lit the fuse on an ICBM myself, and would support anything that sends the message DONT F*CK WITH US.

Further to this I notice that The Australian carried pictures of the Sydney protests. All the banners and placards I could see were scrawled with ‘Socialist Workers’ and ‘Socialist Alliance’

sigh

not really a suprise

After a week and a half of hearing this argument, it still doesn’t pan out. The possible presence of WMD isn’t the only justification that the Bush administration is giving for this war. If weapons do appear, are all the pro-war supporters going to send personal letters of apology to the weapon inspectors for not letting them do their jobs? Same argument, different application, same bullshit reasoning.

Actually, Iraqis are not brown; they’re Caucasian. You know, reading your sentence again, you look like such a racist in that skin color matters to you so much that you make it an issue, and a fictitious one at that.

And again, you and your confreres act like elitist goons, alienating the very people you should be converting. No wonder you are incapable of developing a sufficiently powerful political base in this country.

I don’t think so, Munch. IF WMD are found when Iraq swore that it didn’t have any then they have been engaged in an ongoing attempt to hide them from the inspectors and thus there is no guarantee that they would ever have found any WMD ( if the deception continued to be successful ) no matter how long they “inspected”. I think it leands credence to the position that the inspectors were a waste of time considering how the Iraqi’s limited their access to Iraq.

Fuck these assholes.

“Can’t we all just get along?”

That first pic is what our troops should do to violent protesters (only the violent ones) before they spit in their hypocritical faces and push them out the door over Iraq.

A photo caption from the above link: “The crowd kept getting boxed in so the only way to move was to run.”

I’ve read this six times. I still have no idea what it means.

I got a fever, and the only cure, is more cliches! Ace you are a fool.

Didn’t MLK’s Selma to Motgomery march block traffic as well? Pictures of police beating the protesters on the Edmund Pettus Bridge show a lack of traffic.

Was MLK a moron for interrupting the smooth flow of traffic?

Is Selma Alabama of the 1960s the same thing as NYC in 2003?

Can people file for a permit to lie down and block traffic?
