Toaca and other Liqueurs

At a friends home I recently had a drink called Hot Apple Pie made with Toaca and apple cider, whipped creme and sprinkled with cinnamon. Yum!

At the store I noticed a lot of Liqueurs I’ve never heard of before. I was wondering if anybody had any suggestions for good liqueurs and drink recipes made with them.

My favorite alcoholic beverage is drambuie. It is a liquer made from scotch, heather honey, and a variety of herbs and spices and its most well known cocktail is the rusty nail, which is nine parts scotch to five parts drambuie served on the rocks in an old fashioned glass and served with a lemon twist.

I’m also fond of amaretto (made from almond pitts) and jagermeister, which is an herbal digestif with a strong anise flavor that is (was?) popular with the college crowd. Their most well known cocktails are the amaretto sour and the jagerbomb.
