Tom Cruise & Katie Holmes get Forties makeover - Pretty striking actually

Actually, I think he looks like Glenn Frey 1 2
Tom Cruise that is.

I think they both look pretty authentic, but Tom looks a bit better. In present day photos, the exact opposite is true. I think she’s a doll, and he’s too annoying for me to drum up a “hubba hubba” for.

Tom’s haircut is notoriously incorrect. No soldier in WW2 would have that much hair immediately above his ears.

I used to love both of these actors. Tom I lusted for as all my preteen and teen friends did in the 80s–I mean, he has killer eyes and a great (if occasionally creepy) smile. Katie is cute, sassy, and classy, and I loved her in Batman Begins.

But now when I see images of them, be they plastered in the quasi-tabloids like People, or in publicity photos, or movie commercials, all I can think is…“He crazy!” and “Free Katie!”

In other words, no matter how nice the bone structure, the make-up, or the lighting, I’m thinking…ICK.

I think they both look very good, but I prefer her without nearly so much makeup or such an elaborate pose. She’s a beautiful young woman without all the foofra.

I think Katie, who I normally think of as cute rather than beautiful, does indeed look beautiful here.

Tom looks good, too, but in a second banana kind of way…sort of like the good but bland sort of guy in the movies who watches while the real star (Bogie, Cary Grant, Sinatra, etc.) gets the girl.
