What has Tom Cruse done or said to make lots of people say that he’s gay, and that his marrage to Nichol Kiddman(sp) is a sham?

Seriously, I have no idea. I have not heard that rumour before myself.
Part of it came from rumors surrounding the filming of "Eyes Wide Shut.
Later, when the film was released, it was discovered that the term “drag” was in reference to the film’s plot, not its star.
Likely no more than any other person or entity with that suffers from unfounded rumors. People tend to love gossip and will latch onto the flimsiest of evidence. Proctor & Gamble’s man in the moon logo was twisted into rumors of satanism. The mere question you ask about Mr. Cruise will cause some folks to spread rumors even more.

Actually, the Tom-is-gay rumours started in the 1980s, after he starred in the biggest metaphorical film about closeted gays, Top Gun[su*[sup].
His first wife, Mimi Rogers, was rumoured to be his beard at the time. Now, it’s Nicole Kidman. I would let people think I was gay if I was married to her. sigh

Im pretty sure that in “Eyes Wide Shut” he was wearing a ‘package’ a fake dick & balls. Because no guy looks like that in underpants. I think thats the right flick.
I heard that the rumor started from something his former wife, Mimi Rogers, remarked on why she was divorcing him. ‘He’s practicing to be a monk. We’re not catholics.’
I loved the line, and have used it about my own ‘marital’ relationship.
It’s hard to believe that someone would continue a ‘sham’ this long and not be found out, somewhere along the line by the constant camera lenses they have to deal with.

I’m forty seven years old and I STILL have the old Movie Time magazines that said Rock Hudson and Montgomery Clift were gay, that ISN’T news. James Dean was supposedly bi-sexual. * They WERE all found out. * The irritating point to this is, ** so what. ** Leave them alone, I wouldn’t do what they are doing, if it’s true, but why make them miserable?
I guess that one thinks that Tommy’s bankability as a romantic male lead might, say, deflate? if he were gay.

Your argument against Tom Cruise’s being gay is that someone would have found out by now if he was.
I point out that no one “found out” about Hudson, Clift, or Dean until after they had died.
You respond that they had been found out because there were always rumors about them.
So let me get this straight ( 
): Tom Cruise isn’t gay because there’s nothing but rumors, but Hudson et al were gay because there were rumors.

I think alot of these gay rumors are because people are jealous, so they try to bring him down in others’ eyes. Like people say Ricky Martin is gay/bi, any member of the Backstreet Boys/98*/Nsync/etc are gay, and so on, just because they’re getting more action than everyone else. That’s my theory.
Go to the hotel where they stay and tip the concierge $20. You’ll find out pretty much anything you want.
These stars aren’t nearly as smoothe as you think. We had one “singer” stay in our hotel. The idiot had Asian girls the whole time come up to his room about every 30 minutes. He was “auditioning” women for his small part in a music vid.
If Tom Cruise said “I’m gay” his movie career would pretty much be over. That’s where it ends. When he dies, those of us alive, will find out whether he is or isn’t gay. But then it’s too late.
I find it rather offensive that a gay man would hide behind a mask to make a buck. Can you imagine if a black actor only would play “White” roles what an uproar his community would have. Or a “Jew” only playing “Chrisitan” roles?
Tom Cruise studied to be a monk, and he and Nicole have two adopted children. I’ve heard rumours that he practices celibacy or chastity or whatever. In short, he’s a virgin.
The “Forbidden Hollywood” song “Who’s Gay in Hollywood” contains the marvelous line “Tom Cruise would never cruise West Hollywood,” along with “No, no one here is queer, just go ask Richard Gere.”

Maybe this is semantics, because I did not say, that rumors make one thing believable and the other, not, but Hudson was ‘found out’ well before his death, and James Dean’s bisexuality was known before his.

Not quite but you’re in the bath-house - I mean, ballpark. The $cientology cult used to claim - I guess they probably still do, just not publically - that their teachings could cure homosexuality. The story goes that this is how they snared Cruise (and Travolta, too - I know of anecdotal evidence going back to the mid-70s concerning Travolta’s loafer-lightedness, but can’t recall any concerning Cruise). It’s a story about rising stars trying to shed some of the more unmarketable aspects of their personality, and buying into some presumedly benign new-age philosophy to do so.
Little did they know that $cientology makes newbies confess everything irregular they have ever done, and keeps the dirt in a file in case they have to use it against you later. It is just another way the cult acquires and keeps its slaves.
